    Rivers & Bizzell

I just hope we bring them both back 100% fit. God help us if they get re-injured, particularly Rivers.

Rd. 2 - Slaps and Sledges

I think the main reason why we've bell falling away so appallingly at the end of quarters is because we have so many blokes below 100% fit. Bruce, Moloney, McLean, Pickett & Robertson. Poor selection & god help us if we bring back more blokes coming off injuries like Rivers & Warnock. We need...

    James Mcdonald Gotta GO !!

Ya can't just drop ALL of these battlers. Every team has plodders even good teams (Roberts-Thompson, Fosdike, Crouch etc... at the reigning premiers) The salary cap means that no team will ever have 18 stars on field at any given time. I read on these forums all the time "Drop player x...

    daniher must go

So you're saying the both must go? Both areas are quite obviously lacking. Sack as many coaches as you like, but we'll still have the same list & it has many deficiencies. Recruiting onfield leadership is nearly impossible, Richmond tried with Kane Johnson but as good as he is that sums...

    Where are we heading?

Right now we look to be heading towards a Balme like slump. We need a lot of things to turn around. Coaching, Drafting & finance (which appears our strongest point right now:eek: ) I've seen it before at Melbourne, we could easily drift into obscurity again.

I need an audio file of the Demons' club song

Someone send me the file too, I fear I'll never hear it after a game ever again...:p

    Robbo Goes Off

Getting personal is stepping over the line. In those cases one could forgive a player for wanting to get physical. The yobbo's are fortunate in that the players don't go there. I've been a paid up member of the MFC for 18 years & I get damn angry when it appears to me that they aren't giving...

Come on, Who didnt expect that?

Thank you! Excellent question. I thought it was just me yelling out "shepherd" every time a bloke ran along side almost hoping his teammate would be tackled so he could recieve the inevitable handball. Must change now!

    Bartram - 1st Impressions

He was one of our few goers, we'd have to give him another run. His disposal was no worse than Yze's. Skills can be worked on.

I'm a Dogs fan, and a little worried...

We are a total mystery, nobody ever has us worked out. That makes us a worry for our opposition. It appears to be totally random. Slumps come & go along with months on end of seemingly decent performances. We can drop the bundle overnight & then pick it all up again instantly. There is no rhyme...

Do you want to see Yze break Jimmy's record?

No. In fact I want him dropped ASAP. He appears to be cruising at the moment, give his spot to a hungry player. I wouldn't mind him breaking Flower's games record though. I'm old enough to remember Flower, he was exceptional, but I still think Yze's shown enough at this club to also earn...

    Ryan Ferguson

I thought Fergy & the defence as a whole weren't the reason why we lost. The midfield were totally useless! Slaughtered at the bounces like i'd never seen before, which allowed easy delivery to the Carlton forwards. Dumb delivery to our own forwards (who were there own wost enemy on...

Here we go, what a season we have to look forward to!

Weak. Just plain weak. Mentally as well as physically. You half expect it with us, but it was still painful to watch from half way thru the first quarter onwards. Three obsevations about the coaching panel. - It was painfully obvious that we were a tall defender short, injuries really...

    New Guernsey

I think you'll find that the blue is closer to the traditional Navy blue of the 50's & 60's. The royal blue was introduced for colour TV in the 70's & I for one don't miss it, even though it didn't look too bad.

Who'll get more games, Jamar or Johnson?

Spot on I'd say. They both have something different to contribute, but I think Johnson is more versatile. White's back-up needs another string to his bow because Whitey (when 100%) will only spend short periods on the bench or up forward. Johnson will at times be an option up forward in...

    Nicholson

He's the perennial scapegoat, despite being the only defender besides Carroll with any strength. The promotion of Warnock probably sums up the defence as a whole in a way. Warnock is no worse than any of them, but only because they're decent at best as a unit.

Melbourne Demons Football Club V Adelaide Crows Football Club

Re: Dee's V's Crows Tha margin is just a number, there was little chance of us risking anything after the Crows got 7 goals up for the 2nd time. They did it easy, they usu ally do there (especially against us of course). If the pre-season's wins mean nothing then the losses do as well...

    Still No Bruce

He needs some sort of game before round 1, preferably 2. Hope he can at least get a run with Sandy.

    Herald Sun Super Coach

    In my squad, bargain!

    Herald Sun Super Coach

Just completed my team. I too favour the AFL.COM version, but I'm glad I had a go at the Hun version because my team already looks a bit weak. It's been a good trial run for the real thing. I'll probably join your group anyway.

Where would Aaron Davey have gone in the draft???

We were dead lucky to snare Aaron with the pick we did. In hindsight he looks a definite top 20 player IMO. So far the punt is still paying off for us.

    Melbourne v Brisbane

No doubt that Clark was the real find of the night. Loads of garbage decisions all night. Robbo's 2nd kick & the 50 against Green in the last quarter the two standouts. Physical contact no longer tolerated by the AFL.

    Melbourne's Talent

Watching Melbourne isn't anywhere near as fun as watching Melbourne supporters. Good looking She Dees outnumber the ugly 5 to 1.:D
  25. BT

    Squad v Lions

Despite some obvious fitness issues last season, he'd won me over by the end of last season. He did a sterling job at Centre Half Forward while Robbo was filling in in for Neeta at the end of 05. More versatile that I had first thought & one to watch this season for sure.

    Leaderboard and NAB Rd.2 Votes

5 - Robbo (If he gets his kicking up to last year's standard soon we'll be a threat) 4 - Sylvia (Far from perfect but it was that sort of game, consistent 4 quarters) 3 - C.Johnson (Looks the goods in an attacking role) 2 - Davey (Class) 1 - Green (Kept at it)
  27. BT

    Rivers

Good excuse for him to be rested next week.;) Bring Fergy in & play him where he looks best, in defence. Riv will be right.
  28. BT

    Matty Bate

I'm gonna call a spade a spade & say that he was good last week but poor tonight. Not the end of the world but that's my honest assesment.
  29. BT

    Post match Dee's V's Lions

I think Russian IS still improving but PJ went ahead of him as Whitey's understudy tonight. That role calls for versatility that's years away for MJ. PJ only needs to be a worry up forward & competitive in the ruck to get the nod for mine. Initial observations from the game. - Hot as...

    Clint Bartram

Take the stats out of it for a sec. Clint is playing like a kid who's desperate to make an impact on AFL footy. That alone makes him deserving of another start in the Semi. Hunger is a beautiful thing in a footballer.
