Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 37, Henry Hustwaite - Debuts against the Dees!

In a team that struggles to defend fast transition it’s going to be tough for HH to get a look in. Reality is the people he is competing for a spot against can all play multiple roles. Butler can play forward, tag, and midfield so surely he is still ahead of Hustwaite in the pecking order...

Autopsy Round 8, 2026: Hawks bottle it

Will be fine. Literally having 25-30 scoring shots every week, which is outrageous numbers. Frustrating watch though would’ve liked to see us have a few more pings around the arc when we started to struggle in the air and ground balls. Any danger meeky can figure out the ruck jump timing and...

Autopsy Round 7, 2026: Hawks destroy Suns

Autopsy threads eerily similar most weeks. People calling out others making heat of the moment reactionary posts when we cough up massive leads and eventually win the game anyway lol. Keen for the pointless back and forth between the same posters till Monday. Solid win, giving ourselves every...

Autopsy Round 6, 2026: Hawks dim the lights

I think this is really just the crux of it. He’s just not a very good commentator regardless of the game. You can guarantee he just rolls up to his seat every week, does next to no prep on players in the game and just talks based on feel. It’s no different to just getting my dad and chucking...

Autopsy Round 6, 2026: Hawks dim the lights

Tom Hawkins had played almost exactly 75 games heading into the 2011 finals series where he never looked back. It’s rare and obviously no guarantee but surely there’s enough there to persist with? Ultimate professionalism, 2 of his best 3 games have been big finals. Maybe he’s not the Zach...

Preview Round 6, 2026: Hawks V Port, 4.15pm Saturday 18th April, Marvel Stadium

A lot of talk about McCabe but has his form really warranted a call up? 16 and a goal and 6 disposals against the cats in his last 2 games. I saw the first half of the Casey game and he was ok. I’d be interested to hear what other BH watchers think. I know his rd 1 game was quite good also. I...

    Autopsy AFL 2026 Round 5 - Hawks v Dogs Sat April 11th 7:35pm AEST/7:05pm (AO)

The Bulldogs win percentage away from the MCG also? So this stat includes their home games at marvel? Even if it does this stat is pretty irrelevant considering we’ve rebuilt for a large portion of that timeline while the dogs have had a competitive list and played in multiple grand finals? Is...

Yeah I don’t get the whole Jones thing as a notable exclusion, I’ve heard it parroted quite a few times. He’s kicked 10 goals from 20 games as a small fwd with the so called best midfield in the comp.

Autopsy AFL 2026 Round 4 - Hawks v Cats Mon April 6th 3:15pm AEST (MCG)

Tell us you don’t watch Hawthorn games. He’s literally been our best set shot the last 2 seasons and was top 4 in the comp for set shot accuracy in 2024. He missed 2 sodas on Monday in Q4 when you’re at max fatigue. One after taking a massive contested mark he probably had no right to take in...

Autopsy AFL 2026 Round 4 - Hawks v Cats Mon April 6th 3:15pm AEST (MCG)

Great post - I assume if you looked hard enough there’d be plenty of examples in reverse but it never feels that way playing the cats. I remember saying after last years prelim we need to just get better at all that stuff Geelong do cause they are elite at getting away with grappling and...

lol Brad Scott’s presser good as usual. Waffled on about how “the easy thing to do would be to bring in a heap of experienced players, but we made a decision to prioritise youth” Oh yeah, like when you had 3 firsts on the table for a senior player and didn’t do the deal. Whyyy don’t the...

Yeah I agree. If they get 70 inside 50’s against us like they did tonight and create constant F50 stoppages (our glaring weakness) we are in real trouble. Their strengths have always been our weakness and this year looks kind of similar. Really want to be wrong

Probably get caned for this but Mass hasn’t been great for a decent period now. Pretty poor end to last year including an average finals series and first 2 games this year have been the same. Is a 15 disposal average something that’s good enough to warrant selection every week? I know we...
