The Bigfooty Liverpool Thread - Champions of England

You gotta reckon Wirtz has to be wondering what has gone on this season, he was obviously sold on how he was going to be used this season and surely, we havent seen that... at all.

The thing with making a change in management is... I get it that the culture at Liverpool is to back the manager and all that and we just won the league last season etc but the proof is just in the pudding. You watch us and there is just no evidence of improvement, in fact as the season has worn...

The concerning thing is that it all points to the fact that FSG are happy with Slot and he will continue on with us next season which IMO is just a terrible decision. Again we finish a game this season with two midfielders in the back four. We have Ekitike, Salah and Isak all out and Rio cant...

Honestly with us.... it's just hard to tell haha.

If he's even at 50% get him on the pitch for the last 5 minutes of the final game of the season! I will miss him so much.

If we dont buy a LW, I'd still like to see Gakpo on the bench and Rio starting most weeks.

Yeah I think Ekitike's injury has spared Gakpo getting sold. Think he stays another season now for depth up front and on the LW. I would like us to sort LW and RW this summer but I fear we will only look at the RW for a Mo replacement.

It's great that Woodman went well when he played but he's a 3rd choice GK for a reason. If Ali is fit he starts, if not and Mama is fit then Mama starts.

Also I'm still praying for Diomande in the summer. Would be the perfect guy to come in to replace Mo on the right.

The Bigfooty Liverpool Thread - Champions of England

From the clubs POV what is the drawback of keeping Ali though. Mama is a great deputy. If he gets injured we have a good GK to come in. Just not really any drawbacks about keeping Ali. Outside of being cheap and having to pay Ali what you would pay one of the best GKs on the planet. But of...

Jones is still playing quite a lot really, he's scouse born and bred and loves the club. I mean he could leave for a mid-table club and guarantee starting every week but I mean if I were him, I'd rather play for Liverpool and play as much as you can as a borderline First XI player.

The Bigfooty Liverpool Thread - Champions of England

Decent enough game, not much intensity but with nothing to play for for Palace and us basically having CL secured it was a bit of a nothing game. I really hope Mo's injury isnt serious. I wanted to watch him play and score more goals for us in the last few games. Will be sad if he has to say...

Disagree you dont just jettison a world class player when he's still pretty much in his prime. Would be a mistake. I get Robbo leaving, I get Salah, I get us moving on from Fabinho, Hendo, Mane, Bobby, but Ali still has so much more to give.
  15. jod23

The Bigfooty Liverpool Thread - Champions of England

He's still played 34 times in all comps for us this season. I'd take 35 games per season from Ali than I would 50+ from any other GK. I get we're trying to rebuild the squad but Alisson is world class and way better than Mama, just seems pretty silly to move him on. If he was 37 I'd get it but...

The Alisson moving on stories are awful. He's 33!? He's a GK. I know he's injury prone but he's still absolutely world class and miiiillllleeeessss better than Mama.

Wouldnt mind the season ending with Arsenal bottling it and Spurs getting relegated ... just for the lols. I dont care about any of City's PL wins... cheaters anyways.

I dont rate him that highly anyways, would much rather other options.

The Bigfooty Liverpool Thread - Champions of England

I love Mo and I will miss him terribly. We were poor for about 20 mins then much better after that. Thought the ball from Gakpo was great to allow Salah to score. We cant keep playing midfielders at RB though, we're wide open over there, need to get Frimpong on in the second half. Also we...

The Bigfooty Liverpool Thread - Champions of England

We're definitely thin as a squad. Perhaps with big players, legacy players coming off big wages we can spread those wages on two or three top players instead of all on one. Might help give the squad some depth.

Honestly if we re-sign Konate I dont think we're really in the market for another CB considering we'd have 5 options heading in to next season in VVD, Konate, Jaquet, Leoni and Gomez.
