  1. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

If you’re including Dawson in the post-2020 recruitment, you can include Gibbs in the pre-2020 to swing that side even further out of favour

Review Good/Bad vs Gold Coast, Round 1 2024

FWIW I don’t think we’ll be that bad much often this year. Was a some bad factors for us culminating at once - we’re a terrible wet weather side, GC had a game in hand already while we were coming in only off of a PS game against the Eagles That said, we can’t ever afford to be that sloppy and...

Dawson and Tex have elite disposal, you’re a hard marker 😂 I agree on your Sholl assessment though, his disposal is just meh. Comparing his to say, Soligo’s is night and day
  4. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

I see his average disposal not really standing up at half back these days, honestly. Not enough pace for a wing, but I like resting him forward, I know someone posted those poor goalkicking stats but I can see him being valuable through providing pressure, whilst minimising the need for...

According to his heat map, he seemed to be hovering around wing and half forward?

Yeah I’m confused by that, didn’t Rachele/Rankine/Keays kick 7 of our 8 goals

I’m not sure Nicks loves Sholl, otherwise he’d be in the 22 at the end of each of the seasons he’s played, which is barely the case More a case of what he sees as correct team balance, as well as some selective memory

    Opinion Non-Crows AFL 9

Logo is great, but thought they would’ve gone more original with the guernsey

Review Good/Bad vs Gold Coast, Round 1 2024

Crouch (2) and Rachele (1) the only ones who get coaches votes for us, both from Nicks I assume
  13. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

I mean, trading a future 1st for Rankine means we don’t get Curtin, so let’s hold our horses on that one for now
  14. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

Maybe I’m biased because I always rated Butters and Young particularly highly, but they were highly rated prospects at the time nonetheless, they’d certainly raise our level of current young talent, even without taking into account their midfield growth Since 2020 I don’t think we could’ve...
  15. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

How often are teams willing to do that? Last year with Curtin was a pretty rare occurrence
  16. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

If we finish top 8, I think the pick will go for Petty (if he stays healthy this year), otherwise I agree that we’ll think to keep it and move it up if possible Berry won’t be an A grader (I don’t think), but I think he can play a Rowbottom-type role as a real hard nut, seems to have enhanced...
  17. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

None of those guys (bar Serong, *ing McAsey) would’ve been available to us FWIW. I actually don’t think we’ve been in a position to draft a top liner like that since we plummeted down the ladder. The one time where we had the top pick was unfortunately one of the poorer midfield drafts in memory...
  18. Danger in Texas

Opinion Recruiting and List Management Team: Hamish Ogilvie, Justin Reid & Co

An off-season of say, Petty, one of Hayward/Cumming (either a fwd pressure guy who can provide a marking target and a goal a game, or an extra quality outside runner) and then a cheap version of whichever player type we don’t grab out of the FAs, would be nice Re: our mids - think it’s fair to...

2nds 2024 Adelaide Crows SANFL thread

You’d hope Dowling and Taylor could reach a level of AFL capability this year, too. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Edwards get a few games

As long as Cameron/Hawkins/Stewart don’t run riot I’d probably use Burgess as a defensive forward on Stewart
  21. Danger in Texas

Review Good/Bad vs Gold Coast, Round 1 2024

I’m not gonna get into conspiracy s**t, but he definitely needs to be in the 22 for Murphy next week 3 weeks still seems like excessive conditioning time, especially when it leaks into the season proper The only thing I can think of is that Soligo’s fitness in general is currently a concern...
  22. Danger in Texas

Review Good/Bad vs Gold Coast, Round 1 2024

The thing I don’t get is why it’s taken so long for Soligo to get his conditioning up He played half a game against WCE and then had a full week off, like I’ve never heard of a player needing three weeks to get back to full game fitness, whilst playing games, after injury recovery?
  23. Danger in Texas

    Preview Changes: R2 vs Geelong

I get it, it would give Soligo more mid opportunity and maybe a couple more odd CBAs for Rachele, but even if you take Berry out of the mid rotation, I’d probably prefer him in that HF stoppage role over putting Ned into the side. Just generally provides more explosiveness

Don’t really get what Berry did to get dropped, thought he was okay under average circumstances
  25. Danger in Texas

Review Good/Bad vs Gold Coast, Round 1 2024

Dawson’s problem last night was that he had a severe case of the fumbles, didn’t seem like he was used to the wet conditions at all I’d back him in to bounce back against the Cats, though

Player Watch Josh Rachele - Re-Signed to End of 2029

It was absolutely a problem for him last year, but a mental thing rather than a skill issue Coming into this year with confidence in his leg will be super important

Player Watch Josh Rachele - Re-Signed to End of 2029

If he can produce that in the wet, I’m keen to see what his current ceiling in dry conditions is As said, goalkicking was WAY better than last season too, probably been a focus over the summer
