As good as Daicos was last year his season wasn't even the best 2nd year in recent history let alone all time.
Compared with Oliver's 2nd season:
How about he becomes one of the best current players before we start talking about GOAT. He gets a lot of touches but to rival the likes of...

He doesn't represent the rest of us. I think Watson is a beauty and will have a great career, it's no secret that he was our 1st choice had he fallen to us too.
Bailey Smith had more centre clearances than the rest of our team combined.
Arty and Cody both had more tackles than the rest of our forwards combined.
When was the last time we had 2 elite small pressure forwards in the same team?
He probably felt guilty for ruining the kids debut by playing him in a position he has no experience playing.
Imagine how Buku is feeling watching it all after kicking 4 goals last week. Some smart club out there will probably pick him up for nothing just like Lipinski and Lewy Young.
Who was the player?
I really hope it's not West as I can't imagine what he's thinking seeing Hannan and Baker dish out what they did tonight after getting selected ahead of him coming off his breakout season.
Hopefully he doesn't end up as another casualty of Bevos 'favourites' match...
Where did I say it's our biggest problem?
We have many problems we could be hear all night listing them. But team selection is by far the simplest and easiest to fix.
I think Bevo is a great coach and tactician but his team selection can seriously get stuffed.
Hannan had 6 disposals, 4 of which were clangers and 3 that led to turnovers.
Everyone and their mother can see he is not better than West. Just like we knew Gowers shouldn't have been constantly...
If we're gonna play 4 tall forwards then we're gonna need small forwards who put on a ton of forwards pressure. This is how our smalls ranked for tackles last year:
Rhylee West : 3.8 tackles a game
McNeil : 3.4 tackles
Weightman : 1.9 tackles
Vandermeer : 1.8 tackles
Scott : 1.3 tackles
Hannan...
Still in the 3rd and Picket and Chanlder already both have 7 tackles each.
Must be nice to have small forwards who actually put on forward pressure.
Oh wait we do, Rhylee West averages 3.8 tackles a game, but yea nah lets play Hannan who avg 1.1 tackle a game, and Scott ain't much better at 1.3...
Why even bring Buku in if you're not going to swing him or Cordy back when it's desperately needed.
Cordy has never provided anything as a forward, don't know why Bevo is so obsessed with him there.
God you're spewing some crap in this thread. There's many things you can criticize Smith for but his foot skills and 2 way gut running are unarguably 2 of his biggest strengths.
He consistently covers the most distance of any of our mids and is often the last line of defence after folding back...
