There is no point making calls on guys when you have no idea what you are talking about. He is in no way comparable to Mayes.
Just because he has bulked up which is natural for a boy becoming a man, doesn't make him suddenly slow. Look at Mccluggage, he actually seems quicker now and he has...
Joyce was really starting to look good in the NEAFL before getting injured. A bit of Zorko or Shuey about him. Small but strong at the contest with pace.
He won't play the same style of game, more that he can impart his experience down there as Hodge did.
Birchall is being underrated on this board, is a gun. If he can get himself fit he would be an influential player.
Sounds like a number of these guys are gone either way, particularly suprised if we can keep Robertson, Cutler or Taylor at this stage. And Birchall is a better player than any of the guys listed if fit (a big if i know).
Yep said the culture isn't great, much worse than a couple of years ago. Sounds keen to join Lions and the deal was done some time ago from what he said. Good mates with Mitch Robbo and Charlie.
May be that but could also just be he doesn't see the Dees as being a finals contender. Not sure of his motivations with regards to winning but seems to be a high priority for most players (as you'd hope!).
I don't know about this. Elliott is the stay at home play out of the goal square forward, just a miniature version. Does his best work in the goal square leading out into space. Also think Charlie, and Big can play the stay at home forward in their own way as well.
i'd also like to see Rayner...
Both high flyers but Mccarthy definitely more of a flanker who can jump from behind or the side if he gets a sit.
Jamie is a great leading forward who demands the ball on the lead and really jumps at it. More of a traditional full forward but obviously small. His size, speed and agility also...
McFayden may not be lightning quick but he also isn't slow and he has elite agility which can help create separation time and space. Also he can play as marking forward,, but at 190cm he is border line key position size.
Can't beleive the bad wraps people here are giving Keays. He has a crack which is a good start. Be also does have skills - watch his underage footy and it is very evident.
His main issue at the moment in seniors is a tendency to be rushed. Partly because i feel he's trying so hard he ends up...
I'm not sure if I am misunderstanding you but I don't get that Dow is a better athlete than LDU? In what sense? When I think of what constitutes an athlete, LDU comes to mind much prominently than Dow.
Actually this had been my knock on him watching him at junior level but I I've though his decision making to take the right option (short or long) has been pretty damn good for a guy in him first 2 games. One or two kicks sprayed but I think that was more skill execution than decision making...
For me it's either Mayes who has greatly improved his composure and work rate (particularly defensively) and Zorko. Zorko has gone from a good forward/mid to an Elite goal kicking mid.
Other major notables include Hipwood, Mcstay, Robbo and Andrews.
Looks like Tozer had a good tournament. Just name as one of the top 10 players to come out of the U16 carnival on AFL website.
Also wondering if WA boy Deven Robertson who was also listed in top 10 is Nick's brother or cousin?
Agree Archie will be a great no. 1 ruck. Tough an tenacious around the contest and good hands. Can also take a mark if it comes straight to his advantage. Has soo much to learn as a forward though.
Any whinging Bombers supporters (from being at the ground there will be many) just look at this stat and all will be revealed to you. And weep. And then weep some more.
What a win, yelled my guts out and let every Essendon supporter know of the outcome. As if they didn't already know
Please Rocky, re-sign! Good things to come mate.
Lewy has improved out of sight with his strength and hardness at the ball. Is a jet.
Hipwood will be the hardest match up in the...
