Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the Sporting Globe Newspaper's VFL Teams of the Year?
I believe they began doing them from 1952 until at least 1968. They also gave out medals for those that made their team each year.
I found the first couple of their teams on Trove but was hoping...
A couple of things I discovered today is that we have been the second best defensive team since Round 7, sitting only behind Hawthorn (keep in mind also that Richmond have played an extra game against the current top 8 teams than the other elite defensive teams: Hawthorn, Fremantle and West...
Can we keep this thread just to the ongoing membership numbers and not get into the usual fighting about who has the bigger supporter base, status as big 4/5/6 etc.?
2013 Membership Totals (as of 3/8/2013)
Collingwood - 78,259 (Revised Target - 80,000)
Hawthorn - 63,021 (Target - 65,000)...
Now that the All-Australian team is over, I was wondering how many A-grade quality players there are playing at the moment. I thought the quickest way to get a snapshot of the league would be to ask supporters who they think, to get a general consensus, of who their top liners are. So who would...
In an age where social media can give a club exposure like never before, it's dissapointing to think that although we are generally still thought upon as a big 4 club, albeit we're barely hanging on to this, that we can't even crack the top 8 in support and connection to our club on our official...
I've been following the NBA for many years and as some of you would know, they have a statistical concept they record known as a triple-double, (i.e. 10 Rebounds, 10 Points and 10 Assists, etc) a player can accumulate in a single game. In other words, scoring double figures in three statistical...

It was well publicised that over recent years, (pre Wallace), Richmond had traded away a chunk of draft picks that left us with a missing gap of players in the age range where players are at their peak, ie 21 - 27 year olds. However, upon inspection, recent drafting and trading is slowly...
As my spies have told me that Shane Edwards will make his debut this Friday night against the Western Bulldogs. There is a possibility of at least another, but this is the reason Shane was rested against the Bullants in the last quarter over the weekend as there was little turnaround between...
With all the recent talk of our history of terrible recruiting, taking into account the trades we've also utilised (and what year they were drafted in), this is how our current list stacks up from each draft in recent history. It also shows why Wallace/Miller & co. have recently needed to top up...
What is the general consensus of our needs in the draft (alla Club website)? Hopefully we will select the best available, but if it comes down to two or three similar quality players, which position is vital that we select first?
Looks like they went for the conservative approach, not my choice, but still looks quite good.

Richmond has revealed its new clash strip . . . a design very similar to the traditional Tiger guernsey, but...
For only the second time ever we have cracked the 29,000 mark of ticketed members. There is also still time to easily break are all time record. Gary March was reported in also saying in the HUN this morning that our membership should increase by 2000 with more home games at the G. Exciting...
From the corresponding websites these are the current membership figures. Does anyone have the totals for those not listed?
Cheers!

If you get the chance i suggest you read David King's latest article on the Richmond 'Eye of the Tiger' website. I dont want to copy the whole thing but this particularly shocked me. "Interesting, also, to see Kayne Pettifer’s transformation into a regular senior member. The coaching staff’s...
I'm not sure if anything like this has been posted here before but its interesting to look at Terry's record against those he has gone head to head with as an AFL coach.
vs. Leigh Matthews - 3 wins/7 losses
vs. Mick Malthouse - 6 wins/8 losses
vs. Kevin Sheedy - 4 1/2 wins (i.e. one draw)/4...
With a couple of consecutive wins on the board, morale higher than its been in probably over a year, and an instilled game plan that is capable of actually winning us games, could there be better news heading into the weekend agains the Dockers? The official website has listed Schulz, Tambling...
Is anyone aware that since the draft started almost 18 years ago there hasn't been a single team that has had 5 picks in the top 20! The closest has been 4, set by Fitzroy, Melbourne, Sydney and not supprisingly us with all the bad seasons we've had! Also interesting to note that 4 picks still...
I'm not sure but I thought Brittain had been given the flick? But looking on the official Richmond website I found this page where Wayne is still listed as an assistant coach? Can anyone explain this?
