Last 24 hours have been interesting:
So as I posted previously, Border Downs Tintinara have merged with Meningie to form the Coorong Cats and the new club will play in the River Murray (RMFL) league, leaving the Mallee league with 5 teams.
Murrayville have since announced they are transferring...
The Meningie Bears and BDT Crows (Border Downs Tintinara) have agreed "in principle" to merge for the 2023 season onwards, with the combined club to compete in the River Murray Football League - leaving the Mallee Football League with five clubs and the league's viability and survival being...
Read on ABC News that Kaniver Leoor United and Nhill Tigers will be combing at the end of this season due to struggling numbers, especially in the juniors.
KL United recently left the KNTFL.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Sweet F.A., I am pleased to announce the launch of the newest SFA EXPANSION BID:
THE FROSTY PICKITTS QOOTBALL CLUB
The FPQC will be based out of The Snow Dome in Mount Buller and will be Mount Buller's official second team.
The local Derby will be known as the...
As if the state of affairs wasn't bad enough in the Independent League, Cobdogla has joined Lyrup and gone into recess for 2022, citing a lack of volunteers. This is despite making the finals and finally getting some wins on the board
Lyrup went into recess last season but are looking at...
ABC Eyre Peninsula have reported that due to the merger of Wudinna United and Central Eyre, with the new club (Central Eyre United) moving to Eastern Eyre, and West Coast Hawks and Wirrulla moving to the Western Eyre Football League, that the Mid West Football League has folded permanently...
Was proposed this time ten years ago but never went ahead, but talks are set to take place again.

There is a push by locals to bring back the Greenock Football (and Netball) club by 2020. Greenock is a little town based in the Barossa Valley.
There is a Facebook page, haven't found anything else yet.
Been hearing and reading in the media thay this year's GF crowd of 100,021 was the highest since 1986 when they had 101k.
But some research proves that wrong.
2008, 2010 (Draw) and 2013 all had over 100,000 people.
Or am I missing something?

First article about this in a while. Certainly interesting.
I'm going to make a comparison to the NRL. This week, former NZ Warriors and Penrith coach Ivan Cleary will take the reigns at the embattled Wests Tigers after being appointed as their new coach. This is only a few rounds into the NRL who are a few rounds ahead of the AFL.
As far as I remember...
From todays SA Advertiser:
"South Melbourne will formally submit a bid for an A-League license by the end of this month and is seeking inclusion in a revamped competition from next season.
The club plans to play all home games except Derbies at the 15,000 capacity Lakeside Stadium*, where it...
Gonna play the devils advocate here.
Last two finals, free kick count was against the Hawks, and at one stage the Free kick count last night was nearly double AGAINST the Hawks (think it was 15-8 at one stage the bulldogs way).
So was #FreeKickHawthorn really a myth or have the umps gotten better?
Roxette have had to cancel all their remaining XXX 30th Anniversary World Tour after Marie Frederikkson's ongoing health issues have taken their toll. Sadly I think this may be it :-(
Glad I went with my awesome Roxette mother to see them in 2012 and 2015

Main points:
1. Any player who kicks or handballs the ball without it being touched will have a free kick paid against.
I can really see this being exploited big time, or it...
Sorry to intrude guys and girls, and I hope it's OK to post here.
Anyways, you can probably guess what this is about, and I was after your thoughts. There is a post on the main board (Footy Fourth Estate) but I haven't seen many Saints posters comment on it much.
Your thoughts?
Regards.
Been reported in one of the local rags (the Plains Producer) that Angle Vale Football Club (known as the Owls) have applied to join the Adelaide Plains Football League as early as next season. From what I've been reading there is plenty of support from the move and the 7 APFL clubs and APFL...
So I'm doing a FIFA Career and doing a winter transfer period raid on some EPL clubs. Because I'm a stingy manager, instead of paying overinflated prices for players that aren't even getting games in real life let alone the game, I try to sign them once their contract expires. Nope, not even the...
Poor old Bruce last night could barely contain his disappointment.
Only when Hawthorn looked like coming close did he sound excited ("here come the Hawks") and when Cyril kicked the goal from a free kick in the 3 Qtr he jizzed himself.
Whenever Richmond got the ball and kicked ahead he went...
Wasn't sure where else to chuck this but this week's round in the SANFL is indigenous round with the clubs wearing indigenous jumpers.
It was in an article in today's paper.
I understand if this may upset anyone and I apologise in advance. That is not my intention.
I posted this idea on a thread on the Crows board (RIP thread) and so far everyone on there seems to agree, so I'd thought I post on here to get everyone's view.
I believe it would be a fitting tribute...
Was going to post this on one of the State League boards but it doesn't cover just one state.
Anyway, should the AFL bring back curtain raisers, or rather, should the state leagues allow them more often?
I know the SANFL hasn't allowed them (so the media says) but I think it would be a good...
Anyone else, particularly interstate, notice this?
Here in SA they never once called Football Park by it's commercial/sponsorship name (AAMI Stadium) and I'm pretty sure they don't call the suburban SANFL grounds by their sponsorship names (where applicable) either.
On Facebook they just...
This is interesting.
http://m.theaustralian.com.au/sport/nrl/clubs-fear-nrl-cant-afford-to-expand/story-fnca0von-1227302521891
The NRL can't afford to keep putting it off, either.
Last expansion was 2007 when Gold Coast were included ahead of a reborn North Sydney that would have based out...
Couldn't find the old thread; given its a year or so old thread not worth getting in trouble bumping it.
Anyway Geelong hosted Fremantle at Geelong and wore white shorts and Fremantle were in full purple kit.
North host Port this week in Melbourne so it will be interesting to see what happens...
