You obviously take Swan or Ablett with your first pick, but after that I wouldn't be locked into any position. It is all about flexibility.
If it rolls around to pick 16 and there is still a Cox, Gibbs, Franklin etc available, it would be a no brainer to take one of them. With only 8 teams in...
In my experience on other drafting sites, the top rucks/backs forwards will get bumped up the draft lists vs mids. This does depend on the format but there is obviously no point taking a mid that averages 95 in the fifth round if you have selected four mids with your first four picks, when there...
well well well 2006 here we come again - WCE and Sydney the top teams and most of the Eagles goals will come from the midfield.
JK massive loss (yess yess captain obvious). Lynch's time to shine. Bring in another runner and rotate Shuey and Masten through the forward line like we used to do...
As most guys on here, I like Butler in the 22, at the expense of whoever needs a rest.
The next two weeks can be treated as an extended NAB cup - rest who needs to be rested, get match fitness into those that need it, try a few things.
We could rest Glass against Melbourne. Mitch Clark could...
Ablett for me, only other consideration Rockliff vs Melbourne.
That said, i would probably go Goodes if I had him in the team, but he doesn't make the cut
I think it'll be Hill and Hams who start ahead of Weedon in rd1, which is annoying for DT.
Weedon will get his chance though and can score so worth a look as a downgrade target at some stage
All three again have different specialities, but Matera's foot skills and how dangerous he was going forward put him in front. Brilliant ball handler too.
Other two both champions as well
I don't ever pick players I don't like. To be honest though, most of that list is players who have burnt me in previous DT seasons!
Very bad bias to have DT score wise, but the whole point of DT is to enhance my AFL viewing. Having to cheer for blokes that I can't stand won't do that.
100% agree. We don't have anyone close to replicating what Priddis currently brings to our team with clearance work - an essential part of our competitiveness last season (unless NicNat improves so much he can hit Kerr/Shuey on the tit every ruck knock... now I am excited)
Unfortunately the answer is more about the team who will win most games rather than the player who will perform best in 2011.
Griffen or Rockliff, depending on who wins enough games
Jimmy. Love the man. His only midfield equal over the past five years for the grunt he brings is Lenny Hayes. Loved watching them play each other in the 1pt game a couple of years ago...
Cloke in 2011. Our Boy Josh in 2012
Both have areas of their game which they excel at and are in the top 2 most important players at their club (I'd say Cloke is at Collingwood, JK second to Glass at WCE), but I think JK has the potential to be a more damaging forward presence. And since he is...
Selwood is still our best around the ground tagging match-up for the bigger bodied midfielders - Pav when he is in the middle is a good example.
Apart from that though, his kicking and speed is below par, and with our squad that equals missing out on the best 22 without a specific opponent
He'll be ok - need him when Glass is gone
Pretty standard for me but very hard to pick - bench depends on match-ups obviously.
Butler, Glass, Waters
Hurn, Mackenzie, Schofield
Rosa, Kerr, Embley
Masten, Lynch, Shuey
Nicoski, Our Boy Josh:thumbsu:, Darling
Ruck: Cox, Priddis, S Selwood
Int...
Wasn't convinced originally about Bock playing forward, but that game showed that with some better delivery that would be his most damaging position. Especially with the addition of Warnock. Good call
Thankfully this project is not being managed by the office of Special Projects, but by people who know sport (as far as I am aware?).
I will clarify my previous post - the Government will get blamed for debacles like Perth Arena whether it was their fault, the departments or the builders. A...
The company picked will come down to quality, experience in stadium building and capacity to complete it on time. i don't think the money side of it will be a huge consideration.
The state governemnt are going to get slammed by the opposers if its $1billion or $1.4billion, while the supporters...
Stevens will play early, even if Woosha has to 'drop' someone.
Lycett needs as much NAB cup playing time as he can handle. Will be very important in coming seasons.
Clark is ridiculously disappointing as a forward and I can't see him turning it around (although is still young enough to do so). Also, while he has been drafted with the aim of playing as a key forward, if Jamar goes down again he will be playing half his game time in the ruck, no question...
Sheppard is only a third year - still not close to being his full body size. I am sure the quality fitness staff we have didn't just forget about him, he is being brought on at the pace they want him to be.
They can't all be built like Darling before they are 21
We are easy fodder over west. The newspapers can hide behind the fact we were the last team to benefit from it and because of our 12 position turnaround (of which Darling was only one of a number of factors).
But we will take it on the chin, still dick them with no Lecca and let them keep...
I honestly thought Sheppard, Stevens and maybe Neates would get a round 1 or 2 chance to prove they are in the best 22. Looking at that side I can't see who they would get the nod over without an injury.
No doubt they both will at some point in the first half of the year along with Ash Smith...
