Don’t think they would be forced
But Kntfl are made of up something like 150+ players travelling from Adelaide
I assume Penola and Naracoorte are not recruiting from Adelaide so that leaves 150 players from Adelaide feeding 7 clubs
SANFL players make more money playing in the KNTFL
Not sure...
They are running 2 junior sides to even out the competition, to attract more clubs
Having just 1 south or north junior side, they would be just too strong
Whatever happened to Penola to joining the Wbfl
I thought that was going to happen back in 2018
Wasn’t the original plan that the furthest kntfl clubs join the mallee league and the rest of the Wbfl, mid se and kntfl form a 2 tier competition
From what I've heard the review is complete and the sacfl have it. Reports are certain individuals want to wait until after the sanfl grand final before they take a look at it. They're clearly worried about it eating into their drinking time.
Cant see why 4 major clubs in the mount are unsustainable with a population of 27, 000 and growing. Frew park has never been used for footy. The mount clubs were ranked 1 to 4 in the review. Last I heard a new mount club is still on the agenda.
I think the vcfl will keep portland in the wbfl in 2013 than transferred to the hampden for the 2014 season. Penola to enter the wbfl in 2013 with pt mac and naracoorte entering the following year. I think the sacfl has a bit more work to do to get these 2 teams over.
Allows for a smoother...
Location wise frew park would be ideal but from what I can gather asking around it wont be used. There is nothing else available in the cbd but plenty of open spaces on the outskirts of town. I believe the ever growing junior numbers in the mount will easily service 5 clubs but I do understand...
Benno and milera will most likely return to adelaide at the end of season. We are expecting to lose around 10 players from the senior squad with retirements, players going to adelaide, few have showed interest at going to tant plus I hear hatherleigh will be flashing a bit coin around.
Main...
The saints were lucky to get away with a win against hamilton. With their losses I think brad thomas has done a good job with the boys. They dont have a strong forward line but their movement out of the backline was superb. The state of their reserves team is a worry but we're probably not that...
Preseason is not a requirement at millicent. Just turn up half way through training on thursday and you're guaranteed automatic selection. A couple of pies before the game and you're ready to go.
Im sure this is what happens at north gambier!!!
Plus they have a 2.5million dollar plan to upgrade their facilities....part of their plan for world domination? You would think half that poker money would go to mcconnel. Be interesting to know what the clubs annual turn over is.
Not to mention the extra grades they will have to fill - under 18,16,14 and 3 levels of under 12. Also fairly expensive to run a club in a major league, clubs turnover around 300 grand a year and dont have much to show for it.
Comments were made to the papers when the heywood/hamilton situation flared up last year. Geographically it frees up portland which I believe is the only vic wbfl club that could compete in the hampden. But I think youre right they would have trouble long term as both towns feed more than 1 club.
Its looking like bordertown is going to be fairly strong this year. Has anyone heard that the sacfl want to move naracoorte and penola into the western border next season.
Sandford will pay anyone who can kick a footy and is prepared to travel out there. For the 2013 season and beyond Sandford will be recommendef by the vcfl to shut up shop.
And why suggest casterton join the mid se...will there even be a mid se in 2013?
