Expectations for 2026 (Now discussing: Our next two months)

Dev and Grahame are so evident now in terms of tackles, pressure, allowing the other mids to play more freely. I am sure the club are aware and worsfold said on SEN this week that the team will not be getting any younger as it cannot improve that way. The mid season draft will have to be two mid...

MRP / Trib. MRP Thread: 2026 edition

They never came out formally discussing or summarising Fin Mcrae suspension in the wafl. apparently initially offered one week and they challenged it and he got two. Would be good to understand what transpired as he will be a big out again for the south fremantle game next week again.

    2nds WAFL Watch - 2026 Edition

thanks for the write up. Wafl team will be tested these next two weeks with bigger midfield bodies. Just need to keep getting games into them. Fin Mcrae missing is a shame as he would have helped the young midfielders. Hall, Gross and rodriguez so young. I hope the club are ruthless with the mid...

What made him a flight risk? connection to family? Unusual to hear that for a later pick. Pretty happy he is at west coast. great size and excited to see he next few weeks. Hoping the wafl keep winning and competing so good for these new players

Playing him as a defender as well so at least they are trying to develop more key back options.

WAFL should have Harry in the team plus The other Harry who was emergency. Would be great to see another blitz quarter like the 1st again. Just great to see this team in games must do wonders for the players and staff. Anyone know if msd is looking at wafl based players

Watching the game Fred Rod clean and composed with ball. Given his size once he is fit I think he will go up to afl. Could play a defensive inside roll.

On top of the extra senior squad the wafl recruits are of good quality. Clubs improved year on year in that space. Will be great to watch a competitive team and kids develop. Fingers crossed wafl eagles get a few channel seven games with the improved camera and coverage

Game Day The 2025 Draft Day Thread

Having the benefit of NGA tied for three years gives flexibility now i suppose with Lawson Humphry saying he was not ready at 18. I feel if the Wafl eagles get more competitive which they should this year than it might be appealing to a future NGA to develop through that program.

Game Day The 2025 Draft Day Thread

Looks like one list spot for SSP train on's. I am curious how they spotted Dev, Mcrae and Schoenberg from the other delisted and 2nd tier league players as sign on without trial. No criticism simply interested in what they see and roles. Any word on who has been invited as a train on potential...

Media Thread, 2025: Insightful, Inciteful and Incomptent

Thanks for sharing this. what a great insight. Speaks about the challenge of developing without senior players and the balance of not having too many kids as they simply won't develop. Even how the young players werent preparing well til mid last year. Exciting to see what the growth will be. A...

List Mgmt. Draft thread - 2025 (remaining picks: 29, 34)

I wonder if a thread could be set up which looks at potential landing spots for each clubs list spots. Cal T said the draft will see 44 to 57 picks. Be great to look at what nga or other later picks are linked to clubs which suggests those picks won’t be a threat to the nga and father sons at...

List Mgmt. Draft thread - 2025 (remaining picks: 29, 34)

Tends to fit the trend of the best young VFL player going in the national draft. I wonder if Eagles have a plan to draft him in the national draft. Three top talents and picking him first to get a midfielder and also to address the gap in "middle age player" bracket. Would not be expected...

List Mgmt. Draft thread - 2025 (remaining picks: 29, 34)

I think with the WA funding much lower than victoria for development. Add in the challenge of size and distance of the state club and the recruiters understand that alot of wa players will come in less ready for AFL than in victoria. Lots of WA players being taken mid season mature draft and...

How many experienced players do people think will come in with the draft/delisted/free agent and SSP period? 1. Appears that Dev Robertson is taking one list spot. Ted Clohesy has been linked from reports. Obviously other players mentioned as well such as Schoenberg and Fin Mcrae. I wonder how...

So, after Clarke's interview on 6pr taking 4-5 draft picks into the night and if eagles hold the first two picks likely draft scenario is take three players and to match bids on two of the 4 father/son NGA prospects. I am sorry as this is likely mentions but do the eagles back end picks likely...

Pyke said they are paying over the cap the past year. Marco Bello is head of development from Adelaide helped there rebuild and seven years at hawthorn> i would imagine he would be on good money as he is quite sought after in the development space. Nigle lappin has been at geelong for 17 odd...

Interesting interview on Mornings with Mark Duffield. Adam Johns the WA talent state manager stated that Tylah Williams likely to bid on in the teens could be 2nd to go behind Farrow. Great summary thanks The last point on nga matching for three years is a big one for me I believe they will be considering with flexibility. Evans and walley appear to be a year at least from playing senior afl so I wonder if they are going to attempt to bring one in through wafl and pick them...
