Autopsy 2019 autopsy: 9 wins, 13th on ladder, 2 coaches

Honestly feels like a wasted season. Almost a carbon copy of 2018. Drafted our targets, came out the blocks well, look good in periods, followed by unispired stagnant football, followed by an upset to a contender, only to lose to a cellar dweller. Throw in a rotation of injuries and excuses...

Review Freo downs Pie, 6-5 before Bye

Fyfe went at 68% disposal efficiency today, with 32 posessions (21 kicks) and 0.2 at goal, still room for improvement but its a fair bit higher considerably for him playing on the ball

Review Freo downs Pie, 6-5 before Bye

Massive scalp on the back of Bucks being outcoached in a few pivotal changes, few squandered opportunities and some poor 50m entries to clean up. Biggest highlight for me other than Sonnys cool nerve was the last quarter coast to coast goal from the kick in, 15 seconds of run n gun football.

Review Walters gets a point to beat Brisbane, we all collectively get wood - Rd 10, 2019

I feel this game was a carbon copy of the Crows game with the result swinging our way as the Lions backline doesn't have the intercept and rebound the same ways the crows do. We aren't using the same line breaking players apart from Brad Hill and trying to go by foot which is all well outside...

    Game Day Adelaide v Fremantle

We win the hard ball, only to have no run and spread. So we find a short option and delay our run, then look up and see no options... Then its the same old high ball down the line, entry inside 50 is a high ball to the top of the goal square. Every damn time. We gave Brian lake a norm smith...

    Changes: Round 8 Vs Richmond

Blakely needs to come in, Duman i think gets a call up. Out Colyer, tucker/switta
  7. schnoods

    Will Fremantle make the 8?

I think we'd need to play a few mid tier teams before its clear whether we stack up, teams like Port, bombers, hawks etc. For me, i think we'll finish just outside, just due to constant structure changes, certain players just not being able to stay constantly on the park and fringe players...

Autopsy Round 5 Giant Away Win

Walters, Fyfe and Tabs was easily our best, the rest of the team hunted so well and swarmed when required. Mundy has wound the clock back, forwards are leading well, the passing was accurate. Starting to mesh nicely. Best win in the last 3 years IMO

Autopsy Derby 49: Too much weights, not enough speed work. - Rd 4, 2019

Still not a fan of high and long down the line so McGovern and Hurn can pick off the mark. When we lowered the eyes running into 50 we hit players on the chest to shoot from 35m out, which got us back in. If we could get Hogan more set shots inside 50, we would be dangerous. Beautiful straight...

Game Day Fremantle vs Gold Coast

Langdon had a shocking final 5 minutes. Looks like our hurried high ball down the line from the back line is well and truly back.

Im just hoping our forward half lead up like last week, it might be a cricket score if we capitalize on opportunities.

Holy s**t Geelong are a bunch of greedy campaigners, enjoy paying off that new stand suckers!

Lol, its to pay for Chris Scott's bar tab. 830k is a fair bit of dosh. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/law-order/geelong-coach-chris-scott-faces-court-action-over-830k-bar-bill/news-story/b908648022534285a70b44a288a6ee25

The delisting of Menzel shows what a bad state our game is in

Reminds me alot of Chapman having to move on. Even Steve Johnson, one of the smartest fowards in the modern era and was forced to play midfield only to be discarded. Would have thought he was higher in the pecking order, above cockatoo etc..

Tim Kelly loves Geelong (WARNING: Thread still filled with melts)

We offered pick 11, a home in WA and a guaranteed place in the best 22. If he doesn't have a good 2019, he'll be playing for peanuts at the Saints / roos/ carlton

    Backfire Freo are a joke

We got what we wanted too, didn't have to give up a over inflated price for a reasonable player that Melbourne claimed was a generational player. You guys were angered when Bell didn't want to pay through the nose, but yet were happy to keep Hogan. Yet now he is gone, its good riddance, yet...

    Backfire Freo are a joke

The rage was 2 first rounders were demanded, we traded away our pick 6 (we never had pick 5, lions did) early so our initial offer was as good as it got, till other trades were made. Bell held out, got a better deal with currency under their belt, slight cave from the Dees, but nothing compared...

Well done Geelong for finally taking a stand

Players are basically shares in the stock exchange, values go up and down, with predictions and projections altering the indicative price. Speculation stirred interest, but at the end of it, Kelly valued himself pretty high, Geelong wanted some return and couldn't get it, West Coast weren't...

Autopsy Rate the trade and FA period!

Think we overpaid for some, good price for others. Hope Hogan heals well, good preseason and some new strategies to come in. Can only judge by improvement, but on current face value we got our targets, couple of experienced depth players. Lost a gun midfielder, hopefully we'll get coverage.

    Freo Forward Line 2019

Especially with the new rules, we're gonna stretch a few defenses. Tabs will roam chf, up the ground in a Nick Riewoldt style, Lobbster at true chf, Hogan at true FF. Combinations to mix and match to suit weather and match ups.

    Rumour Rory Lobb

Yep. No concerns with Lobb( other than the deal not being done yet), but he should definitely ease a bit of pressure up forward. Agree with Hogan too, he reminds me alot of Jay Schultz more than any player in all honesty, good lead or wrecking ball.

    Rumour Rory Lobb

Honestly though, my biggest worry is our mids seeing him up forward and bombing rainmakers to him. I just hope we get enough consistently healthy players on the park so they can get used to playing a familiar role.
