I'm not denying any of that. It was a wasted opportunity to go deeper into the finals. The players have to live with it all off-season, hopefully it serves as motivation.
Rohan's MIA effort (he was poor, although he was not alone) continues a worrying trend on the big stage. The two recent GFs he was non-existent as well.
The highlight reel in the regular season is great, but in reality we need more output.
We'll have to disagree on that one. The "product" that the AFL produces (game quality/match day experience/professionalism of TV presentation/season fixture/drafts/club membership/media) IMO greatly outstrips that of the NRL.
Yep I would be very keen for Richmond to get up this coming week, then return to the "Richmond of old" in the prelim for some laughs.
Geelong in Week 2 @ the MCG, then hopefully a prelim @ ANZ against the Giants - I'm liking it.
I agree with the OP. We have, on paper, a brutal finals draw. Much tougher than 2016. If the top ranked team in each of the opening week matches win, we have a tough road to GF Day - Richmond match up against us well and have a good record, and a potential prelim in Adelaide would be white hot...
I know footy is not an athletics carnival, but gee those foot races with Jetta involved - in particular the run to an open goal vs Collingwood, 2012 Prelim, and the following week vs Rioli - not often will everyone in the whole stadium rise to their feet.
Well done Jets. We loved your work!
Without sounding arrogant I think with our % it is hard to miss the eight now. If we don't win 1 of our remaining three we don't deserve to be there, I am pretty comfortable we will get the 2 at home - and see what happens in Adelaide.
I do think the top 4 is gone though. We're a game and a...
Well this is a huge night at the footy.
Given we have Carlton and Freo at home, which I am banking on as wins, this is the game to ensure playing finals.
Doesn't get much bigger. Go Swans!
I will freely admit that when the Roos-Longmire transition occurred, I wasn't too happy - mainly because I was wedded to what Roosy did for the club.
In hindsight that was me clinging to that rosy period for the club which culminated in the ultimate success after more than seven decades. Horse...
Really good news!
He was quite poor last week but has been a leading light this season. Impressed by his hardness around the footy. He needs to bring that this week.
Shades of the 0-6 start to the year for me.
Too many players (especially mids) not firing. I realise JPK was injured, shame for a milestone match. But Hanners and Parker were too quiet, and our ball movement was really poor (especially the inside 50 entry). Lloyd was badly missed, such a shame...
Some pretty handy results with Melbourne and StKilda losing. To drop our game but stay in 6th is a good result for the weekend (well, as good as possible with losing!)
The two home matches are of course must-wins, and then 1 from 2 on the road does the trick.
I think we should, and will, in time.
Not sure if Henson Park is an option, if the surface was improved. The men use it as for their intra match; location wise it is a winner.
The Saints are a potentially tough opponent, but flaky - their best is excellent, but who knows which version will turn up?
The hardness the Swans have got in their game at the moment will not allow them (IMO) to be overrun unless the Saints are absolutely on their A-game.
Fantastic tough win. Probably the best win of the year given the opposition (despite being down on form recently), moment of the season and momentum for the final six weeks. 6th after Rd 17, goodness me. Here we come :thumbsu:
