On 10/07/1897 Brunswick v Footscray, A number of experienced Footscray players went to Flemington (Races?) and did not turn up to play. This was attributed to them just wanting to enjoy the day rather than playing. Footscray still won. 19-Jul-1913 Footscray supporters booed their own players...

My Preston records are pretty sporadic. It could be that there was an 'Archie White' and an 'Arthur White', but I think not. Brian Membrey's 'Where we came from' history of the Preston club also only mentions one A.J. White and notes he retired after 20 seasons in 1911 (p.65)

Not sure about the framed on, possibly ebay or an Auction site years ago. I agree that much more work needs to be done on lower grades of football, Country football and (for me), the VFA. These stories all tie the bigger picture together. I have spent a lot of time lately on the 1877-1890...

    Player Movement statistics

Yes - I think there is some potential hers Or to or from a club through a season (Except for start years). A big exodus or influx It can be hard to measure as players could have gone to the VFA and back again in earlier years. There was probably a lot of movement in 1945-46 with the VFA returning

    Player Movement statistics

I have noticed that a lot of players move between clubs, but is this consistent or are their patterns, (I am talking about the pre draft era) Did some clubs transfer lots of players because they were located beside each other (Collingwood Richmond/Fitzroy/Carlton) Did some clubs have a lower...
