Fully understand that’s what the AFL want. Just not convinced how it is meant to work in practice.
Does Greene ‘sticking out’ his hands reduce the impact 100% of the time? Doubt it.
I think it has to go that way in part because there’s not enough talent in the league for the best players to be missing 4 game blocks. Basically a ‘no fault’ collision rule.
While we are on the topic, it amazes me that some players still don’t wear mouth guards. I know the science behind...
Wow.
Amazing how one draft pick can change the narrative for an entire club. West Coast’s list still has so many older players and will get worse before it gets better but they can build a club around Reid for a generation.
I hope he maintains a work ethic to match his massive talent because...
Not until there is an AFL reserves league - otherwise availability would depends on a semi-pro state league fixture and differ for each team.
That said, the sub seems pointless to me. I’d rather see it scraped altogether.
These type of suspensions should be challenged every time until it’s made clear what a player who finds themselves in Toby’s situation is actually meant to do.
Good to laugh at teams like Fremantle and Adelaide when the umpires * them because our turn will certainly come.
Can’t wait to play Carlton in a final…
Worst case for Butters would only be a fine anyway. Careless, high contact and low impact.
The AFL suspend on the outcome and not the action. I’d be all for changing that but you can’t pick and choose.
I assume part of the reason for opening round and this endless bye s**t is because the broadcasters don’t even want a 9th low quality game overlapping on a Sunday afternoon.
I don’t know whether we play 4 talls, Mead forward, Narkle, Tommy A, Sinn or something else but it’s painfully clear we can’t keep carrying McEntee in this form.
He needs an extended run kicking multiple goals in the twos.
Dixon is finishing a bit like Jonas, with his opponent being best on ground or having a career best game every week. O Lord please don’t let him limp into finals without having a clear alternative.
Ross will have spent all summer stewing on the way GWS beat them in the final last year. Reckon he’ll have something planned to disrupt GWS and turn the game into a scrap.
This takes the tally to 6/13 suspension in 2024 for indigenous players.
Talk about over indexing. Someone better get Susan Ley on to this - it’s a crime spree!
