Rules you would like to see implemented

Genuinely one of the worst suggestions I've seen on this board.

Opinion Teams you actively avoid watching?

North, St Kilda, Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Freo. All the other clubs I can generally find something I can get excited about, or someone I dislike enough to get into a game.

AFL Silver Membership Waitlist Number Part 2

I've been checked twice in the last five years, very rare but it does happen.

Freo robbed !!! Ball was clearly touched. AFL media trying to cover up the obvious umpire error

I've had players look me in the eye seething with rage and swearing at me...then all of a sudden after paying dissent they say, "oh I wasn't talking to you." Sorry, but from experience I just don't believe the player.

Rules you would like to see implemented

Would that mean allowing deliberate out of bounds for either side within 50m? Would be farcical!

Rules you would like to see implemented

I don't quite understand this post, if nothing else the application of insufficient intent is incredibly consistent nowadays. You can still clear kicks, just don't act like an NRL player and kick it to touch.

Game Day Cats v Doggies Sat April 6th 810 pm @ AO - Gather Round

Sorry, West's head was over the ball genuinely contesting and copped it high. Agree Atkins couldn't do much, but it's one of those ones where the free is there regardless.

Rules you would like to see implemented

I am amazed how little communication you hear from the umpires honestly. When I'm umpiring on Saturdays, I'm screaming YOU! or STILL ME! every two minutes. I get they need to clearly hand off to the end zone umpire when the four system can see kicks over one of the mid-zone umpires to the end zone.

    Eureka Stadium (Mars Stadium)

Was wondering what you were meaning. The number two oval rooms are tiny, but that's for the juniors. The proper rooms at Mars are AFL standard. Love umpiring at Mars, their umpire rooms are bigger than most players rooms in the league!

The Footy with Broden Kelly Podcast

Mate, Broden has literally come out and said his most hated team is Geelong. It's funny! Gotta go to the Gravy Spot this weekend.

What rule would you Add/Remove/Change to improve the game?

They heavily consult with umpires though to ensure any new rules are enforceable. I can tell you right now the stand rule is very easy to enforce and provides a clear advantage to the attacking side, hence why the AFL is happy with it and it will stay. At the start when the rule came in, if a...

Roast St Kilda in no mans land

We couldn't kick straight because we were unable to handle St Kilda's pressure in our forward 50. Yes we had the ball but it was so hard to get space to have a clear shot at goal that we sprayed it anywhere. We couldn't effectively break through which was a worry.

    Jumper clash fails

You'd think if the shorts clash then their jumper does too.

Genuine question, have you every umpired competition football?

Placing the ball on the ground while tackled, Blues lucky not to be pinned for holding the ball.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 1 - Blues v Tigers Thurs March 14th 7:30pm AEDT (MCG)

Umpires cues are to look for a player with eyes off the ball making front on contact interfering with the mark. Incredibly soft but it was a correct free kick.

    Workshop Jumper Ideas For 2024

I'm still certain this jumper would sell out within a day if executed properly. Might mock it up with 2024 sponsors and push it again.

    News New Jumpers for 2024

Not sure if this has been mentioned but no GMHBA logos on the Cats polo or training shorts. I'm assuming still on the match shorts but an interesting downgrade in sponsorship.

News GMHBA Stadium Stage 5 Redevelopment

Heard they are pushing for it to be up and running by the preseason game. They have had groups touring through this week looking at the stand and from all reports it's looking pretty schmick.
