Murphy had a tough day for any player but especially a kid. Sent off. Kicked 1 goal 6 behinds and missed the one after the siren. He will be feeling crap but he’s only a kid and will be a gun.
Did he warrant getting sent off and did Albury make the most of having the extra man?
Bucks would have had around 25 years in the system as one of the highest paid. He wouldn’t be shortchanged as a media performer either. Unless his ex had the best divorce lawyer ever or he has been struggling with the punt, I doubt if he would be in too much trouble financially
How do the Pies land big trade targets? I don’t know enough about it but we wouldn’t have anything to offer would we? We don’t have any good picks to trade and many of our better players are closer to retirement.
Need some draft/trade experts to fill us in on how we can improve the list.
The Dogs seem the most exposed and there seems to be something wrong at that club which might just make it easier to pry players out. They have so many players who will command big dollars. The maths can’t add up.
4th and 5th spot is up for grabs this year. 3 clear standouts and the rest look like a raffle. Thurgoona look like they have the most potential to maybe cause an upset.
Having this money open up for us is a big reason why we need Graham Wright back in the drivers seat when he returns. I think Wright combined with the contacts that Ned Kelly has created could really turn this into something special for us.
I’ve always wondered when we have posession after a mark or a free roughly 60 out from goal why we kick it long into a pocket or pull the kick slightly and drop it in front of the square. We seem to be seduced by Cox’s height but it’s rare he looks like marking it in these instances.
What would...
I think not having Murphy as support makes a big difference. Frampton has been great so not disputing that. I just think Murphy allows Moore to zone off with more efficiency because his cover is so good.
I hope Ginni isn’t booed and at the end of the day we can remember him as a premiership hero from only 6 months ago.
I do hope though that whoever plays on him gives him an absolute bath.
Has anyone been watching Ed Allen lately? His name was mentioned a lot last year as a potential inclusion and someone who could be a future gun but doesn’t seem to be in the same conversation this season so far.
I could see Fly giving Finn another start this weekend as a show of faith. Steele might start as sub and come on after half time like Crisp did and give us and himself a boost.
I don’t think this will become the norm but just see the opportunity this weekend to allow Finn another go to adjust...
Mitchell deserves some credit. Got his hands dirty and helped limit Lachie Neale in the second half big time. Neale only had a handful of touches in the second half.
I can see your reasoning why taking the foot off the throttle would be a good look but with the top 3 or 4 sides so tight I think Albury will see a chance for an even bigger percentage boost before the grounds get wet and scoring becomes harder.
I would think that Corowa putting a side on the park each week is a win and the scores would be secondary. Wodonga and Nth Albury have both been as low as you can go in the last 4 to 5 years and both have shown what can be done with a plan and being prepared to build slowly. In a very short time...
We look tired and slow because we are turning the ball over so much and then having to chase more than usual. We win the ball and then work as hard as we can forward only to see the ball turned over, we then have to turn and sprint the other way. This has to take a toll.
I might be wrong but were the only players missing from our Grand Final win - Ginnivan, WHE and Murphy? Two of them were a non factor and WHE was solid without being spectacular. This list should be so much better.
