Correlation is not causation, and we'll likely have quite a few more chances to test the theory, but is it possible that Hawthorn wins every time Donald Trump gets indicted?
March 30th: Trump indicted in New York case regarding campaign finance violations concerning hush money payments to a...
To an American ear like mine he sounds like some bizarre mutant hybrid from Dallas, Victoria. I listen to his podcast, and I love hearing what he has to say, but there's no question it's strange the way he says it.
It literally isn't. Even if the 8 doesn't change from here on out, the order of the 8 certainly will. And the balance of the season is what will determine that.
And the games that young players will get for the balance of the season for teams out of the 8 will have a huge impact on next year...
In the Richmond v Geelong game in the first quarter Bruce was remarking on how long ago Castagna had his last goal...
"When was that opening round? It seems like neons ago..."
And sticking with the 2014 theme, you had the 10 unanswered goal game against Geelong in round 22. A 56 point turnaround after having been down by 33 - ten minutes into the 3rd quarter...
Other than them playing us I can't remember the last time I hoped the Dogs would lose.
I can't remember the last time I hoped the Crows would win, full stop.
Going to be a strange feeling watching this one.
Odd that you would say that, since baseball games are one of the only American sporting events where they always sing. And the song they never fail to sing is Take Me Out to the Ballgame... and includes a verse about peanuts and crackerjack...
Thanks for posting this. I generally post a similar thread for around the holidays where I have a lot of time to get caught up on the great games I might have missed from the season that was.
Now I don't have to. Cheers and welcome to the greatest game in the world :thumbsupemoji:
I should let...
According to the Superfooty podcast I just finished listening to, Bruce McAvaney's pre-season tip for the GF was West Coast vs Collingwood. Not many would have got that right.
But then again, when Richmond's Jayden and Collingwood's Mason were somehow involved in the same passage of play in the...
I feel like I could explain the concept to him...
"It's what's left over after you subtract from your efforts what everyone else thinks is giving their all."
199%-100%=99%
I for one want to know what Smith said to Sicily.

Needs to go back further and include that incredible torpedo from Sicily and the chase and knock-on from TOB.
Then, and only then, would you have fully captured the awesome beauty of that moment.
Excellent suggestions. I had forgotten how good that game in Sydney was. In the fourth quarter I was actually getting nervous if we would pull out the win. And despite some woeful set shot kicking, that Bulldogs v Bombers game was the epitome of the "set the Sherrin free" style of game. So much...
Sorry folks - I should have perhaps been more clear that I meant games from just this past season. I don't have access to every H&A game ever. And I'm not sure how the young guns firing in a game from 10 years ago is going to make you excited for the upcoming season. This was meant to be a...
'Tis the season where I have some time on my hands. Every year I enjoy watching some H&A games I might have missed or that are worth a rewatch.
The criteria:
High scoring
Multiple lead changes
Reasonably close in Q4.
Quality play (I always like me some pressure acts, tackles and desperation -...
It's not a "wildcard" unless there are divisions/conferences. This is simply expanding the finals.
More than 50% of the teams in any league getting into the playoffs triggers the yawn reflex.
