Don't want him next year. He was an opportunistic trade this year as the kpd market is so tight and with the picks we had left. With a full year to sound out players before next trade period, I'd be extremely disappointed if we couldn't get a decent quality, proven player instead.
As much as I dislike Bonner's inherent softness, his kicking is being highly under-rated here. Is borderline elite, right up with Houston, and he has been confident enough to use it with brave kicks inside of late. Lienert's kick is at least a tier below Bonner's.
Marshall was quiet but his man Darcy Moore was even more so. Barely sighted him and can't remember him influencing a marking pack all night. He's a big key to their defensive drive so maybe Marshall was under instruction to run him around and maneuver him out of position?
How bout first up we bid on Maginness with 22 to bring our 3rd and 4th rounders up in value before doing anything else? Gives them extra value straight away if we want to then trade that 22 off with one of them...
Broadbent was an absolute liability the first quarter when it was relatively dry and everyone was fresh. The conditions from then on helped him immensely as the game became a slog and slowed down to near his pace.
Exactly. I was going to bring up that Lade example too.
The fact we've been messing around with the ball inside 50 for the entire Hinkley reign is all the evidence you need though. It's a high school level math problem to work out how poor the probability is of making a short pass inside 50 to...
I've never noticed how awful Darcy's body on body work is until last week. Clearly his go is coming from a ways back and pinching like in his draft vid highlight.
Found his first quarter play quite amusing down the member's wing boundary. About three or four handballs in a row, all missed or partially smothered but he just kept pushing it forward and got it on the boot eventually. He's got some grit and determination.
