Geelong more successful than Richmond, Hawthorn and Melbourne according to that graph. That's despite Geelong having won three less flags than that aforementioned trio of clubs.
Another chapter could be written this week, or if Hinkley becomes Richmond's next coach, or if Hardwick becomes Port's next coach, or all of the above or one or two of the above.
I think the rivalry between them is still there albeit fairly dormant. A finals match up between them would remind everyone this is probably the biggest interstate rivalry alongside the rivalry between Sydney and West Coast.
Crows started rebuilding in 2020. Carlton started rebuilding in 2015. Yet it feels like the Crows have gone past Carlton in their rebuild.
Do you think the Crows have gone past Carlton in their rebuild?
I've been hearing the likes of Jimmy Bartel saying Sydney and GWS need COLA back. I don't think the AFL are happy about Geelong and Richmond destroying the NSW clubs as I've been hearing reports about the AFL losing ground to the NRL in NSW. Do they need to bring COLA back?
Port lost the China game yet Hinkley is still their coach. Also Hardwick is under more pressure than Hinkley despite Hardwick being a triple premiership coach compared to Hinkley being a triple preliminary finalist. It's bizarre.
Brisbane match up well on Collingwood because they have the firepower to beat them in a shoot out. Apart from Geelong I don't think any other side has enough firepower to outscore Collingwood.
Despite all the success Hawthorn had over that time the 1984 and 1985 grand finals still burn them deeply. Even 2009 does to an extent when we knocked them out of the top 8 and Lloyd knocked out Sewell.
Port have now won 24 of the past 30 games they've played against St Kilda. I was in the minority who tipped Port to win tonight and the result shouldn't change the fact Hinkley shouldn't coach Port beyond 2023.
I don't understand the media love fest for Ken Hinkley and Ross Lyon either. The two...
I don't recall Tom Boyd getting booed. Closest scenario to this apart from Adam Goodes is Tom Scully after he left Melbourne and even then it was mostly just Melbourne supporters. Not universal like Goodes and Horne-Francis.
I haven't seen a player universally booed like this since Adam Goodes. Would he be getting booed like this if the scenario was reversed? ie. player drafted with number 1 pick by SA club returns home to VIC after 1 season?
West Coast are at rock bottom yet I could see them going past Carlton again and winning another flag while the Blues remain in no man's land before having to start another rebuild.
