That's how it works, you don't get something for nothing, it's about weighing up needs against what clubs might be willing to pay for certain players. Who was to know that McKay, Curnow and McGovern would all have injuries at this time of the year, that we would have been able to turn pick 11...
So, is he a developing ruckman or is he a tall forward who can play tomorrow? At 184 cm tall, I would have thought that was a bit short for either.
Too bad, they then play for the Bullants. It's a bit of a false dilemma considering they might not get placed on an AFL list at all. I was also under the impression you could now deactivate a player for the remainder of the year without them having to have any injury.
....Er? Currently, on terms of who would be available if we had to play a game tomorrow, are lacking depth in the forward line, I was thinking the same thing before I knew anything about Moore training with us. Jeez you people are a fickle bunch, you'll be saying the same thing before too long...
I completely forgot about that option and was thinking Ben Silvagni was next in line. With that in mind, I'd probably prefer we take a punt on Sturgess.
It's already been stated that he'll be out for half the season and it's not as if our other talls are exactly match fit at this stage. Bringing in another tall forward makes sense, even if the details aren't perfect.
That would depend on certain players, who shall remain nameless, overcoming persistent injuries. You are right regarding trade targets for the end of the year, however, at least on paper.
'You can play football just like the pros when you get your new Matthew Kennedy action figure... complete with an amazing zero points of articulation.'
