Geelong 2018 will be the AFL's Golden State Warriors. Will break all sorts of records.
NBA fans are getting bored with GSW domination and I expect AFL fans will begin to lose interest because of Geelong domination.
Our venture to India will prove to be more successful than Port's venture into China.
Guarantee there won't be any jumper debacles between us and the Tigers either.
Seeing as though you won't give a crowd prediction for the Port vs North game - What's your crowd prediction for our home derby?
They have China though so it's all good. Nothing to see here.
They're gearing up for another dynasty. 8 debutants while sitting comfortably in 3rd place on the ladder. Dangerfield on track to become one of the best players ever.
They'll be getting Ablett for peanuts this off season, as well as poaching Smith and Hopper from us, and Impey from Port.
Good...
Our crowds aren't increasing yet because it's a long term project. Like I said the crowds were never going to come overnight.
Also we haven't had our home derby yet. Port have already had their home showdown. That's something else to consider when comparing average crowds from this year so far...
2014 - 44,364
2015 - 42,929
2016 - 39,665
2017 - 40,457
After 7 home games the average is only slightly above last year's despite Port being a top 4 team this year. There's a clear downward trend.
You still haven't given a crowd prediction for this weekend's Port vs North game either. I...
It's soccer/league/rugby territory in the west. We're doing ok so far all things considered. Growing the game in the west is a long term project and the crowds were never going to come overnight.
We're only in our 6th season in the AFL. Did you expect us to be filling the stadium overnight?
What do you think the crowd will be at this weekend's Port vs North game?
Disagree.
AFL House would be worried as the Geelong superpower continues to dominate. One team dominating for so long isn't good for the game.
Mick Malthouse said as much last year that fans are getting bored with the domination. The continual decline of crowds is testament to that.
Fair enough. I haven't been following the game for that long so wasn't aware of that.
This will be the first Port vs North game at Adelaide Oval too. What do you think the crowd will be?
