So last year we fell apart around about now. Logically this year progress would mean falling apart around round 12? Something to look forward to.
TBH it doesn’t feel that way. Last year it looked like we played desperate football in order to win. This year we are holding it together even...
I guess I’m thinking if he loses form and ends up in the vfl where he goes reasonably well. Anyway, point is I’m less worried about his ceiling and more worried about his body. Continuity is so crucial with where he is at now
I don't care (much) if he doesn't kick another goal at AFL level this year as long as he doesn't get injured. I just want to see him this time next year after continuity into another preseason. He has what it takes if his body allows it.
He's become the most important player to retain for the future. Merrett came in and gave us a tenacity and work ethic a few years back making him the most important player for the club. Durham now is the 2.0 we needed installed in a bigger frame. He's the type of player that gives you an edge...
I’d be stunned if they brought him back without a full minutes game in the vfl. It’s always at this time of the season that you think where do we find a place for this guy. Then the injuries come and problem is solved. Yay.
Loved this guy early last year, just seemed to have A list qualities. But the timing of this is a bit surprising? What if ends up having a bad year with form/injuries? Mid year seems like a no brainer in terms of timing. On the other hand, i guess it's ultimate vindication for my early...
If the hawks kick straight they win that. :D
But more to the point is how often we can expect to kick four times as many goals as points in a game? I reckon that must happen in about 10% of games?
Hawks had us by the balls for at least half the game and through accuracy we hung in there...
I’m surprised to see duursma in every best 22. I expect him to play a lot of games because he is definitely thereabouts, but best 22 is supposed to be the pie in the sky ideal. Ideally we don’t have a spot for him if the team gets back to where they were first half of this year. It seems to me...
Have you looked into him in detail? It’s almost pie in the sky stuff at this stage. He is headed firmly in the wrong direction. He is moving in order to get one more decent contract. Weideman all over again
Quoted for effort 👍
Fwiw (unlike the doomsayers) I think we have a chance at getting your extra A graders next season. So many players made big moves this year.
I ******* loved what I saw of Durham this year. He faded which is no more than I expected, but before that he was reminding me of Darren Millane. A genuine hard arsed winger. Duursma looked flashy early on but you can’t say he has better scope anymore imo.
as far as I can see we are losing on trading bzt for Duursma. Bzt is developing nicely into a very good defender. Duursma has shown nothing in years. Are the reports on a four year contract for real?! He is an absolute liability. I’m not against rolling the dice on him for a year or two but...
Our small forwards typically get about 3 disposals and zero goals on a bad day. I get that he gave the ball away but at least he was in the game. Luck plays a big factor on a rough day. If a few of his kicks worked out then it wouldn’t have looked so bad I’m guessing
Weird level of bs going on here. Guess it’s the no.1 factor. He has had poor moments and some poor form in general at times. However who would be surprised if he is in AA contention next season? I certainly wouldn’t.
