Which player under 21 will become best 22 player in 2023

Sonsie and Gibcus pretty close as it is. Sonsie selected for the last 7 games. Gibcus played 18 games in his first season. I'm guessing MJ isn't in the poll because his already best 22? I really like Juddy Clarke. Looked AFL level in the VFL, and played some solid footy in the seniors. I dunno...

Opinion Who is the greatest Richmond player of all time?

MJ senior is my fave. Maybe didn't play enough games to be "the greatest". KB for me. 403 games. 5 premierships. 5 B&Fs. Played well in big games. Bloody amazing. But Dusty is still going...

    List Mgmt. 2022 draft pool.

As someone whose being watching the draft game longer than me, what do you think is happening with D'Aloia and Szybkowski? Wouldn't be many 6 foot inside mids with their junior track record who go undrafted 5 years ago. Could potentially put Taj Campbell-Farrell in that category too. Pretty...

    List Mgmt. 2022 draft pool.

So, from here, maybe we take two rookies? I'm count 35 on the primary list, including the two newbies. I'm tipping we upgrade Pickett. Maybe Miller. There's some kids with good junior credentials left on the board: All Australians from the u18 National Champs (best 23 on performance): Jed...

Name 6 players you want at Richmond in the draft

Isaac Keeler (KPF who might slide, but probably not) Harry Lemmey (KPF who might slide, but probably not) Anthony Munkara (Essendon academy prospect, mid forward, might slide, but who knows what's going on with this kid, talented AF but barely played this year) Tom Scully (KPF who might slide...

Moved Thread The Meteoric Rise of the 30+yo Footballer

Good take on this over recent years here: Why 30 is the new 20 Essentially, the argument is that good players get better at football with age, but worse athletically, until the drop-off in athleticism outweighs the improvement in footballing. Sport science slows the drop-off in athleticism...

S7 H&A of the AFLW was attended by 231,388 peopl at an average of 2,571 #Aggregate season #3 average

As one punter, I attended less games this season. Not through lack of interest, or the $10 admission. Mostly through local footy filling up my weekends in the early part of S7. I can see why the move in timing was made, but I didn't like it. It felt like it didn't give much notice to the...

S7 H&A of the AFLW was attended by 231,388 peopl at an average of 2,571 #Aggregate season #3 average

This was one of the reasons for the move that the AFL stated. Not sure on the data. Be interested to hear.

I don't hate the idea either. Almost every KPF taken outside the first round of the National Draft gets less than 50 AFL games and cops stick on BF for their entire career. Poor bastards are on a hiding to nothing. But them's the cards we have in our hand, so I wouldn't mind seeing us try...

    List Mgmt. 2022 draft pool.

Yeah, I'd guess 2 ND, 2 rookies and leave a spot for the mid-season draft. But I have NFI. We'll upgrade Pickett, but I don't think we generally upgrade rookies unless we have to. I think Miller and Biggy can stay on the rookie list this year.

    List Mgmt. 2022 draft pool.

With the delistings, we might end up using both late picks. Maybe take two u18 speculative KPFs? Maybe one KPF and the best available slider, and then take a mature age KPF in the rookie draft or as a train-on player. Clubs don't seem to use the National Draft for over 18 yos at the moment...

Gotta take 3 in the National Draft, with rookie upgrades counting as a pick. We'll upgrade Pickett for sure. Maybe Miller, maybe Stack. Upgrade all three, and we won't use our picks. I think we can leave Miller on the rookie list this year? I'd rather upgrade Stack than take a speculative 18...

Preview 2022 AFL Draft General Discussion

Anyone know what happened to the rule that every club had to take 3 selections in the National Draft? With talk that only 50 or so get selected this year, something's changed.

    List Mgmt. 2022 draft pool.

Agree the list needs are KPF and inside mid. Clubs have to take 3 in the National Draft, and I doubt we'll take any more than the bare minimum. We have picks 12, 19, 30, then 84, 102 and 120 (Resource - 2022 Provisional AFL Draft Order - live based on current ladder!) I'd guess the club isn't...

AFLW Our best team this season

Yeah, McKenzie at centre bounce for me too, but jeez, you can imagine her owning a wing. Strong, good overhead, tough. Proper Richmond winger traits.

AFLW Our best team this season

It's a good 21. Black has me comfortably covered, but I'd be putting Ellie at the centre bounce - but how? SHosking and Conti have to be there. Egan starting high half forward? Haven't seen enough of her to know if we'll get the best outta her there... Maybe Black's idea is better. Reid mighta...

    NO TROLLS The umpiring crisis

Can confirm many of the issues related to having enough umpires apply in the Vic country league I follow too. Money. Abuse. Age profile of umpiring fraternity. Covid changed things and many just didn't come back, and during that two years, there was no new umpires starting. One umpire I talked...

    Roast Congrats AFL You Win

I feel the same, Tiger, and have for years. Even when we were winning premierships, I was going to less games, and watching way less AFL. Wasn't sure if it was a general case of the shits with the world. Could still be that. Agree. But I don't blame the AFL 100%. Whingers have campaigned to...

    Tigers' 2022 report card

Hard to disagree with any of that. Goes alright, Sarah Black. "The gap between Richmond's best players and the rest is still too big. The difference is slowly being adjusted, but it's going to take time to build depth in the list, particularly during another round of expansion. A key defender...

    Review 2022 Mid Season Draft - Wednesday June 1 @ 6.30pm

Thanks. You've watched heaps more footy at this level than me, and I'm not sure I saw any Stingrays at all last year. I was at Frankston on Saturday though and thought Culley was probably best on ground. Looked him up, saw he was u19, and wondered why he didn't get picked up last year. Be...

Autopsy Roast & Toast vs St Kilda and Changes for R4 vs Western Bulldogs

Liked Dow's game. Miller back in for Grimes. I don't want to see Prestia rushed back. I can't remember why Grimes was out of Rnd 2... Remind me if that injury was a hammy? We have royally ****ed up our medical calls on bringing injured players back into the team the last season and a bit, IMO.

    Roast Congrats AFL You Win

I'm with you. I've been to more local and junior footy and less AFL for a few years. Better atmosphere off the ground and better contests on the ground. I won't be going to any live AFL when it clashes with local games I want to see. The AFL have been trying to turn the game into something...

Autopsy Roast & Toast vs GWS and Changes for R3 vs St Kilda

Jeez Miller's come a fair way. I reckon most agree he'll go out this week, and he'll be a bit stiff. Part of a back line that kept decent opposition to 10 goals from 55 inside 50s.
