Bit of fun maybe?
No club has ever beaten every other side in the league during the home and away season alone.
So, I thought everyone could test their luck and declare on the record which side(s) we won’t defeat from R1-R23 next year.
In 2021, the correct answer would have been ‘Collingwood’...
Saw that the Dogs had theirs tonight. Does anyone know when ours is?
Anyway, I thought it could be a bit of harmless fun to predict top 10s and other awards. For the record the best youngplayer award doesn’t have an eligibility criterion anymore (ie first year players) but from what I can see...
Best percentage in second halves of any premier since 1929
Full credit to Ron The Bear
This is how this flag was won. As noted, percentages as a trend were much higher in the early days of the comp, across shorter seasons.
Really who cares, but I never thought we’d win a Norm so let’s analyse it to death.
Trac and Fritsch dominated the votes obviously for what they did in the third, but there was a bit of ANZAC Eve to it in that Jackson fundamentally changed the contest in the third quarter to allow Petracca to...
This one is a genuine question, esp for older heads on this side. I’ve rolled it out mostly as a joke this year re: this Dees side (not at all suggesting it’s us), but I’ve never actually paid any attention before.
Accounting for scoring etc, who are some sides that have done there best work...
Curious on everyone’s thoughts. For me it goes:
Adelaide
Sydney
Brisbane
Collingwood
North
Geelong
GWS
Richmond
St Kilda
Hawthorn
Fremantle
Carlton
Bulldogs
Langdon out, Sparrow in with some readjustments on field.
I really think we’ll win this one. I think we’re vulnerable away against sides that bring the heat with a vocal home crowd (as clearly demonstrated last week), but otherwise teams just cannot play good footy against us at the moment, no...
Probably my favourite statistical measure, so I’m making two threads in one day. I warned you Proper Gander you’ve unleashed a beast.

MFC rankings for 2021 games alone after six rounds:
Gawn is the highest ranked ruckman...
Figured the podcast needs a bit of love and a discussion space. They’re taking a hiatus this week which is fair but I reckon they’ve missed an opportunity, would get huge traction after the Richmond win.
That’s not very #positivelingers of me though, so let’s hope for a huge 7-0 celebration...
In honour of supporting history’s worst 5-0 side, this thread is a safe space to discuss the things you are the best at doing badly.
I’d like to nominate myself as the worst ever at not being deathly hungover on a Monday morning
As it stands we have picks 18, 19, 28 and 50. I'd expect us to use all four picks, as 50 could come into 40 or so after clubs have to use multiple picks before 50 to match academy bids.
Currently we have 36 players on our senior list and three rookies (Chandler, Mitch Brown, Jay Lockhart)...
Basically just things you want to see happen in 2021
I’d love to see Salem and Rivers attend more centre bounces and/or play the wing role opposite Langdon (or Smith if we get him) at stoppages around the ground.
Also would like to see Harmes played up forward, is the closest thing we have to...
Out: Jones, Jetta, Brayshaw
In: Tomlinson, TMac, Bedford
Not sure why Rivers has fallen out but if Tomlinson and TMac makes us too tall for the slippery weather I’d bring him back.
Think normally TMac would have to fight his way back in but Brisbane are very tall at both ends. Don't know if the coaches will go with both of Jetta and Lockhart.
Vanders and Brayshaw both with questionable moments with ball in hand as well as some very good ones and plenty of impact around...
* I'm bored, so here's a game.
Redraft our entire list in order of importance/value/whatever. Take into account raw talent, exposed form, age, leadership value, positional rarity, injury history, etc.
Petracca
Oliver
Gawn
Fritsch
Lever
Harmes
TMac
Pickett
Viney
Jackson
May
Salem
Melksham...
Unless Robertson (or Gould) slides I doubt pick 30 will play R1 and let's just assume Bennell is locked in.
Time for everyone's favourite prayer exercise, the R1 hail mary.
FB: Hore May Jetta
HB: Hibberd Lever Harmes
C: Langdon Petracca Tomlinson
HF: Fritsch Weideman Melksham
FF: Pickett...
Time for everyone to put their money where their endless melting is. This thread exists purely so we can all point fingers and laugh at each other when Jackson turns out to be either a good pick or a bust, either for us or elsewhere.
put your predictions below
I’m gonna say good pick
Can Goody continue his dominance over Bevo?
In: Gawn, Baker, Lever, Jetta
Out: TMac (inj), Hore (inj), Petty, Lewis/ANB/Lockhart
Would love to drop both ANB and Lewis and bring in Jordon or Bedford but unlikely to see five changes after a win. Lockhart probably needs a spell too but I do like...
Title says it all. What excuses will they come up with other than the fluke premiership that validated the emotional existence of their 90k feral fans?
Would save us about a hundred threads about Vic bias etc. Don’t know a single Victorian team supporter who cares what happens to non-Vic clubs. AFL, consider this a live petition
