Had it on in the background. Saw bits.
Free for Betts if he's even breathed on
Hoff drops a sitter in front of goal.
Rozee free ignored.
Haphazard game style.
Can I take another year of this?
Nope.
Watching us play last night and what I saw was Adelaide just before Sando got sacked. Carlton just before Mick got sacked. Brisbane just before Voss got sacked. To use the cringy media saying "it looks like Ken has lost the players"
I don't understand what Ollie and SPP are trying to do. They try to bullock their way through. It ain't gonna happen. Players are strong enough to stop them. They should be trying to get the ball out to our runners. That's what I see every other team doing.
I was told yesterday that Bonners girlfriend was seriously hurt in a work place accident. Not sure when it happened but would explain why he played the way he did. Brought me back to reality. Sometimes we lose perspective. Hope she's ok.
Something that is becoming increasingly noticeable is that our players don't play instinctive free flowing footy. You can almost see the wheels turning in their head when they get the ball in pressure situations. We seem to take a second or two longer to dispose of the ball.
Surely we must be...
Some serious thought going into this. This is doing my head in. The negatives far outweigh the positives. No significant improvement in 4 years, a league run by idiots, game officials who are either incompetent or corrupt (see relevant thread), Adelaide media who sink the boot whenever...
Hearing things like this just confirms that the AFL, Clubs and media are one big orgy of nepotism & cronyism.
But hey, real supporters pay their memb.... I mean support their club no matter what right?
What I realised after yesterdays loss was that we play in many close games. Our gamestyle is a low scoring defensive borefest. As a result the margins are generally small and good teams only need a very short run of good play to kill us on the scoreboard. Couple this with key players who make...
Frampton needs to play. He can make a statement and prove the doubters wrong.
Howard forward would be a mistake. His closing speed and long reach saves our asses plenty of times.
Did the review call goal or umpires call?
I'm confused as the narrative being repeated over & over is that it went back to umpires call because the skerrick of evidence reviewed was inconclusive. My girls were at the ground and said it was deemed a goal by the review.
I cant get over this. Im still as furious now as I was on Saturday. The AFLs reaction has stoked the fire even more. Im struggling to reconcile my support& love for this club with my hatred for the AFL. You just know it will happen again at some stage.
Ross Lyon has made it very hard for anyone in the media to defend Gaff. He has put the human element front and centre mentioning Brayshaws mum in tears and a young kid in really bad shape. Broken jaw and 4 displaced teeth. Surgery required. Anything less than 8 and its a farce.
All good to look for the silver lining but I think the fact that the result has been determined by an incompetent and substandard system put in place to try and avoid situations like this is what's grinding everyone's gears. I'm sure we will get over it until it happens again.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The AFL doesnt give a $hit about the integrity of the game. Their focus is $ and nothing more. The fact they were seriously considering major rule changes in season proves it. They'll be loving the fact this happened because it will be all over every...
Why do we seem to get shafted by game officials in crunch games? The Geelong/Dixon play on situation, the Schuey/ducking free and now this. I bet there's more that I haven't remembered.
