Dunkley is a solid back up ruckman. We are getting the problems earlier in the season and hopefully the guys continue to learn from it. Hopefully we learnt to play in the wet from this game.

Lions Finals Ticketing Information - No more Collingwood supporters seeking tickets!

I think that is just put there for now. Our actual tickets will reflect what we are assigned automatically if we make it.

Who replaces Will in the midfield rotation?

I think we should cut Dev more slack. He hasn't played regularly in the Seniors and being in and out, due to the circumstances, means he won't achieve the consistency as quickly. Payne last year was quite inconsistent too. He made a blunder in the Melbourne final by spoiling straight to Pickett...

Not comparing players at all, just comparing situations and needs with what I'm about to say: Back in 01, Hawthorne drafted Hodge because he was the player they needed based on his qualities etc and what they wanted at the time. They could have also drafted Ball or Judd and still become a...

    First 22 in 2023

We don't need McKenna to be a superstar, we just need him to use his skill set the best way he can. That way, the team will have that slight percentage improvement as a result and if all the other players do that then as a team, we will make greater progress.

Great work by Ashcroft to choose that number. Learn from some of the best in the competition but also see, day in day out, how the other midfielders (also 2-3 of the competition's best) operate.

A fit and firing JL is only a good thing for our midfield. Competition will create higher level of performances throughout the midfield and to me, that will be one of the best things that can happen.

I wonder if there is a connection between their lack of action during the trade period vs this. It might have been stewing in the background.

I also think your rise up the ladder depends heavily on your people at the top. If you have the right people, that is needed for your club for particularly the stage where it is at, then a lot of other things will start to take care of themselves. We weren't a top 4 team when Hodge, Cameron...

GC are salary dumping so Geelong are taking a part of the cap off them so pick 7 was a cherry on top to create the market for taking that part of the cap on. What went back the other way was just nominal to complete the requirements of a trade. Both clubs are benefiting, in their own way.

    The positives thread

I agree, they are hard to win. It's not a linear process. All these finals experiences we are having are building the individuals within the team. A premiership is not always a guaranteed result of all these efforts but you always have to give yourself the best chance to get there.

Play Nice Hawthorn culture and Fagan

Get off your high horse. Very presumptuous off you to say what you did. Both sides of the media present news in a way that suits their general narrative. I'd rather wait to hear about what actually happened from the impending investigation rather than go off one side of reporting.

Play Nice Hawthorn culture and Fagan

I think we should keep things in perspective and see what other information comes out from all parties. It is easy to jump to conclusions from reading one side, especially something from ABC. Things are not always as black and white and I hated how some posters in here were keyboard bashing...

Not to say you're wrong but my perspective on this is that after seeing Des Headland play his heart out for us back in 02 and winning the GF, he still told us, after it all settled, that he wanted to be traded back home. I know a lot of things have certainly changed since that time of course...

The core of our team still hasn't hit 25 or older yet. Yes the main players are mostly in their late 20s but the rest are very young. All this experience will be invaluable going forward into next year.

This might be the year we have to have before we wake up, as a team, and realise unless we play as one unit, put effort into every contest, not worry about how many goals we kick, All Australian jackets we get, or Brownlows we individually win then it might turn around for us. This could be the...

Gardiner is one of our most important defenders, along with Adams. When either one or both have been out, our defense have struggled against KP forwards. I will go as far as to say he is our most important key defender who allows Andrews and Adams to play their games.

Arrogance and cockiness are never good qualities to display when you're at the top. Some Collingwood supporters have shown that often over the years. Especially when Beams decided to go back to them and I distinctly remember some of them saying maybe he can lure Rayner and Witherden to their...

    Non-lions discussion 2020

Having watched each of the finals Richmond has played, whether at the grounds or on tv, my take on it is that we played a whole lot more better then any of St Kilda and Port. Not because we won but we managed to lock their ball movement down and also matched up well around the ground and didnt...
