Heath was transferred after wanting to go after losing his spot
Parking left after captaining and coaching the team to coach
carlton
i would suggest a bit different
To me, it was like Barassi leaving the Dees to go to Carlton
Words mean little near actions.
I will use the example of Dermie seeing it appears he is your idol.
He is Hawthorn to a T and the family ethos it exudes. My point here is his loyalty to Yabby as his Father figure by how he hates that maggot Sheedy. This after Sheedy dragged Yabby's name...
A Hawthorn man through and through, sure
Also, a Carlton man, through and through, as well
The two clash for I. Mainly for I HATE Carlton like no other viewing them as one of the Hawks most hated foes
I would dispute this. More Carlton than Hawthorn to me. I do not know your vintage. To me, a player from Parkin's time at the club would never have gone to Carlton. Just thinking of how shamefully we were treated by Carlton when moving to their dungheap from Glenferrie. Even our players by their...
So, you are basing it on Scott's incendiary and unpredictable persona.
What are your thoughts on Parkin being a legend in our HOF
Great player, fine captain, and a great coach. Lovely fellow as well.
The rub is he sees himself as a Carlton man. A team old-time Hawks fans HATE with a...
You do not have to look good to be effective. And Scott was plenty effective. Aside from Arthur and Hodge, our best ever captain as well. Then our saviour. Without Scott their is no Hawthorn.
I think a good few forget this
Of course, he is in the best 22 for the Hawks that i have seen and I have viewed since 71
Also, on your point of 'insiders know how influential he is during big moments'
Why isn't Don Scott a legend in out HOF fame?
Premiership hero, lauded captain, and saviours of club :)
Agree, and are not comparing. Just making a point of Ablett's individual ability. I think it is forgotten by many. As for Burgoyne, no doubt outstanding on all counts
Sure, but The racehorse' played in an age of set positions whereas Silk plays in a multi facete age. In a sense, Burgoyne is the quintessential 'swingman'
Those names stand along. The first 4 legends. Kel Moore, a great great player
As for Ablett, i thought he was very good.
Not that it means a toss, but, I wrote up my best ever 22 from the time I have followed the hawks (71 onwards). I had both of Ablett and Burgoyne in the team
I agree with your previous point that this has become tiresome. This will be my last post on it.
Firstly, retribution/revenge is a dish best served cold :)
Secondly, why would I want it removed? When by it remaining it paints the lad making the foolish claims in a very dim light. as well as...
The inspiration for the thoughts on Glass is the start to 2016. Where they tried Litherland in the second key defensive role to accentuate quick rebound. It failed for LL was very weak overhead/in the contest. In this regard, Glass is very able and plays big
I think leadership will be huge...
I must admit, usually, I do not care about abuse and the like but something like this is way out of line. It stood out that since replying to the lad calling him out he hasn't been on the site. He could be busy. Or, thinking oops, might be wise to lay low
More about his individual deeds. many make the HOF despite winning no flags. Think of Bobby Skilton and ablett Snr. i think he might struggle to make ours. If he does, players like Geoff Ablett would have merit to feel aggrieved
