Makes you wonder what the true pulling power of Anzac Day actually is as it sold out in a day.
Could it hit 120K if the capacity was there?
Pointless I know, as it will never happen, but I wonder how many it could pull with infinite seating.

Great crowd.
You can’t get any worse than Richmond 1-6 coming in. Doesn’t entice the members or the neutrals. 70K should hopefully be the base and 85K the ceiling.

55K?
Surely 70K?
Richmond reserve seat member driving down from NSW.
It’s more than a game now. It’s a tradition Anzac Eve.

Marvel has every thing going for it.
Newish, central, train station and not too many bad seats at all.
Now if they open the roof, it be a world class stadium. 🏟️

Not great, though it may help overall attendance if Tigers happen to win Sunday. The tigers might think they are a chance and turn out haha.

Gobsmacked. In a good way. Sensational Swans turnout, just need to look at the red in the crowd.
Rusted on Richmond supporters understand the assignment and will keep turning up it looks. The ones today get the ultimate reward.

Richmond crowds will come back to reality this year.
Unlike most the Richmond supporters in here I have always firmly felt we are the smallest of the big four, meaning we are big none the less and I am more than okay with that.
I think if Essendon ever get gojng, they may have the ability to...
Freo is smashing crowds out of the park, ironically off the back of poor form and not sure you can say it’s still a new stadium upswing other than the capacity boost.

Test for the Tiges today.
0-2
5 changes to their best Team
Grand Prix day.
4pm on a Sunday. Wtf is that about.
Sub 30 territory I’m thinking.

Anyone know why Saints home game at the G?
Personally I’m looking forward to attending the G with 20,000 of my fellow Tiger nuffies. Aww the days of the Wallace era, pick any seat on the joint you want [emoji28][emoji23]

Freo continue their strong crowds off the back of a very average performance last year.
They are a genuinely medium to large club these days since the new stadium. Props to them.

Yet again highlights the best and the worst of the G in one.
40,000 can provide a killer atmosphere, but at the G looks and feels empty.
Gotta get better filling up lower levels and closing the top levels.
Little sympathy for the argument “you see better on level 4”. The atmosphere gets people...
With the dust settled on opening round there was some positives but a couple of question marks.
In future I wonder if they just make it a proper “round 1” and add another round to the fixture (obviously logistical issues around home games, but we are heading to a longer season in future...
Thankfully it’s a blues home game so attendance should still be over 80K.
90s is wishful thinking, it’s only been 90s for flag unfurling, cousins return etc.
Should be a huge turn out regardless.

I’ve been lucky enough to have been to two and the difference simply just can’t be no shows?
There would have been 8,000 more people who wanted to go to either of those two games. The AFL must not sell as many standing room to finals as they do the GF.
Next week Melbourne V Blues could sell...
I don’t debate if either of the last two nights figures are incorrect, but it really makes me question each years GF attendance.
All of a sudden a game that has only 32,000 tickets go to Members, a s**t load of corporates who could not give a s**t and an AFL and MCC members gets 100% capacity...
I see your point and agree, that Richmond Prelim was something else, not even Collingwood could replicate in 2019 and we know the power they have.
Carlton though aren’t far off that same position. 20+ years of crap, I would say a bigger club and off the inflated crowds of this year, anything...
How many tickets can saints members buy?
If they really really push this one it could still get 70K which would be epic.

Saints should bring 40K and Swans should bring 25-30K. Will likely be the only Melbourne final that a neutral non member can snag a ticket too.
2 90K+
1 70K+
1 30K+

Obviously got my yellow and black glasses on but 2nd highest total ever in a year where they finished 13 and were at one stage 3-7 is a dam good effort by the tiger Army.
Will be interesting how it holds next year if the ominous cliff fast approaches. There was a time but that long ago where...
What a year for crowds.
While Collingwood continue to break records there is a few stories underneath that are worth looking at.
Freo are nearly the story of the year for me.
44K average home attendance consolidates them as a powerhouse club in a terrible form year. Comfortably passing Port...
I don’t say this to be smart in any way, shape or form because I genuinely believe it is the best way forward but it literally works how it sounds.
I can go to each home game and sit between N7-13 for 3121. Premiership circle is anywhere between N1-N6, you can enter the rooms behind...
A fitting crowd and a fitting day for our heroes.
They created joy we couldn’t dream of, so fitting that the favour was returned.

Jeepers. Touchy bunch about the world game.
The AFL knew the fan fare around the World Cup and still chose to release it during the play offs match.
Anyway, my point more broadly was sport working together may provide the best outcomes for all. If the AFL want the Great Southern Stand knocked...
