Game Day 2023 AFL Draft - The Late Male Edition

Can someone fill me in on Sharp? I had him in my dream team a couple of years ago and he was pretty good IIRC. Understand he wanted a trade to Freo end of 2022 but then stayed on GC's list for 2023. Why didn't he play last year?

Play Nice Is it time to replace Woodside as sponsor?

I love my gas cooker and my gas hot water system. Would be very hypocritical for me to not want them as a sponsor

Geez some people acting like we just traded Pav, it's Lobb!

Traded Jordan Clark and F4 traded to Fremantle for #22 and F3 (Carl)

Do we even want Clark that badly? (and can someone explain why?)

Mega Thread Miscellaneous Freo Discussion thread

Yeah it all looked pretty chilled, no costumes apart from some wearing the same white shirts. Bit of yelling and carrying on at times. Bit surprised to see Sonny having a dart but I guess it's the off season and they can do what they like. They all left around 3:30pm or so

Stalker Alert: Looks like the lads are having mad Tuesday on the roof of the National Hotel, can see them from our office. Would love to know what is on their seemingly matching white shirts, looks like a photo.

News Impact of COVID-19 on season 2020 and beyond

I ain't going back to work until the daily new cases are almost at zero. I have a pregnant wife and there is no way I'm risking bringing this horrible disease home and passing it onto her or my 18m old daughter. People die of stuff every day but I'm not likely to pass any of those causes onto...

Yeah so what if you become symptomatic but you're not sure if you've been in contact with someone else that has tested positive (a stranger perhaps)? You self isolate, possibly get over it in 14 days and then that's it, you don't go down as a statistic?

What do you think about all the "quantative easing" going on right now and about to happen? They're basically creating currency from nothing yeah?

The economy has been rooted for a while now. The Libs are moronically still going down the trickle down route (except for the extra cash for pensioners and welfare recipients) which has probably helped get us to this point. When the Libs won last year I said: "good, it means they'll be at the...

Gotta say I don't agree with most of your assertions here. Calling democrats "left" is plain wrong, most of them could easily run as Republicans. The corporate democratic establishment is right wing - they love war, they love private companies (their donors) running everything, they don't want...

The problem with the Democrats is that they're mostly (and controlled by) moderate Republicans - the establishment. Obama himself said that in eras gone by his policies would be viewed as moderate republican. True lefties have nothing to do with their pursuit of Russiagate etc. True lefties...

Look I'm not an expert in the field, I was just throwing it out there as an idea. Obviously your questions and many more would need to be nutted out by legislators and certain restrictions and regulations be put in place. Look how long it took the state gov to go through the assisted dying bill...

I guess it would be a right for people of working age who are citizens of Australia? I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure the idea is not to force Grandmas and children to work. I have never seen that suggested as part of a job guarantee and to suggest it is, is just being disingenuous.

I never said human right. I said as a right. As in a right of citizenship. As in "The basic concept is that the government would offer, as a right of citizenship, a job". Nowhere did I say it is a human right to have a job and nowhere did I say every human should be forced to work... geez.

You're just being ridiculous now. Do you honestly believe that is how a job guarantee would be implemented? No one is saying your 93yo Grandma would be forced to work - geez talk about a strawman argument. C'mon surely that is tongue in cheek. Why should we as a society be held to ransom by...

I think you also need to understand that taxes don't directly fund anything (https://theaimn.com/hey-not-taxpayers-money/). Taxes are mainly a measure to curb inflation and give the currency value. I believe there is actually no reason to make cuts to one thing to fund something else at the...

It's well known that one of the most wasteful areas of the government is defence. The whole department needs going through but for a start I don't think we need to waste so much money ($17b+) on buying 72 fighter jets from the US for a start. That's a huge waste of money.
