By that measure Matthew Pavlich was never a forward based on his first 5 or so years. Players change and move positions all the time. Harry Taylor and Cale Hooker both showed they could do it but we're pigeon holes early in their careers. Just cause they haven't doesn't mean they can't.

We've had no interest as where it currently stands defence is where we have spaces in the side. I imagine when Tex is gone there will definitely be an inclination to give one of them a shot down the track to fit them all in
Everyone forgets he was a handy forward as well in the juniors. All this talk of how we can fit Curtin, Worrell, Keane and Butts is silly given the two former have and can kick bags of goals if their junior form is anything to go off
Absolutely, especially given the high profile nature of the him they won't let send him behind bars. Only way is if he started getting methy like you said
I think I'm in the same camp unless something changes or starts the SANFL on fire. He's best suited to the Laird role and Laird is still one of the best at what he does.
No I completely agree. I just think Newchurch was a poor example. Nankervis as a pressure forward would have been a sight to see if we needed something more up there
I am no expert but I'm fairly certain you don't need the most solid legs to get into the pocket and throw a dime in the NFL. Hard to say the same for an AFL midfielder clocking nearly 12km every game...
Newchurch would have resulted in us hemorrhaging goals from rebound 50s. Couldn't put enough pressure in the SANFL, what chance would he have had stopping a Sicily or Dale rebounding attack
Agreed but it's tough with these talls, err on the side of caution debuting straight away unless they are generational (Curtin could be this but I'm not 100% if he's at that level)
I think the beauty of Curtin fundamentally is that he is not just a tall and can play that third tall role if needed. Think it puts pressure on Worrell to perform and probably Keane as well. If one of them have a lack luster start to the year and Curtin dominates the SANFL (20+ touches, 7+ marks...
This is the very definition of starting the *ing car. Early debut on the cards at his size and with his skillset. Debuted at WAFL seniors and had 20+ possessions, bloke is born ready.
