Absolutely. Taylor Adams at the end couldn't get a game and he's not half bad.

    Training Pre-Season 2024

By that measure Matthew Pavlich was never a forward based on his first 5 or so years. Players change and move positions all the time. Harry Taylor and Cale Hooker both showed they could do it but we're pigeon holes early in their careers. Just cause they haven't doesn't mean they can't. Also...

    Training Pre-Season 2024

We've had no interest as where it currently stands defence is where we have spaces in the side. I imagine when Tex is gone there will definitely be an inclination to give one of them a shot down the track to fit them all in

    Training Pre-Season 2024

Everyone forgets he was a handy forward as well in the juniors. All this talk of how we can fit Curtin, Worrell, Keane and Butts is silly given the two former have and can kick bags of goals if their junior form is anything to go off

    Training Pre-Season 2024

Absolutely, especially given the high profile nature of the him they won't let send him behind bars. Only way is if he started getting methy like you said

Player Watch Luke Nankervis - Debut!

Especially if he comes out the gates strong in the SANFL. Same with Dowling as I think they have both moonlighted as forwards in the past

I think I'm in the same camp unless something changes or starts the SANFL on fire. He's best suited to the Laird role and Laird is still one of the best at what he does.

Elite hands, dual sided kicking, goal sense, clearance work, did you want me to continue?

    Player Watch Zac Taylor

Exactly. How many players have been told there not up to it and don't make a change? Can't think of too many. He'll get there.
  19. grundog49

Player Watch James Rowe - Delisted

No I completely agree. I just think Newchurch was a poor example. Nankervis as a pressure forward would have been a sight to see if we needed something more up there

    Opinion 2024 Round 1 Team

Think I might chime in: B: Michaelany, Butts, Milera HB: Hinge, Worrell, Curtin C: Soligo, Crouch, Jones HF: Rachele, Walker, Pedlar FF: Rankine, TT, Fograty R: ROB, Dawson, Laird I/C: Nankervis, Smith, Keays, Murphy SUB: Sloane

    List Mgmt. The Whipping Boys?

I am no expert but I'm fairly certain you don't need the most solid legs to get into the pocket and throw a dime in the NFL. Hard to say the same for an AFL midfielder clocking nearly 12km every game...
  22. grundog49

Player Watch James Rowe - Delisted

Newchurch would have resulted in us hemorrhaging goals from rebound 50s. Couldn't put enough pressure in the SANFL, what chance would he have had stopping a Sicily or Dale rebounding attack

Player Watch Jake Soligo - Re-Signed to End of 2029

That's such a cold take, played a very handy role on the wing. We got rightly punished whenever we subbed him out. Top 5 bnf next year.

Welcome Welcome to Adelaide: Daniel Curtin - Pick 8

Agreed but it's tough with these talls, err on the side of caution debuting straight away unless they are generational (Curtin could be this but I'm not 100% if he's at that level)
  29. grundog49

Welcome Welcome to Adelaide: Daniel Curtin - Pick 8

I think the beauty of Curtin fundamentally is that he is not just a tall and can play that third tall role if needed. Think it puts pressure on Worrell to perform and probably Keane as well. If one of them have a lack luster start to the year and Curtin dominates the SANFL (20+ touches, 7+ marks...

Welcome Welcome to Adelaide: Daniel Curtin - Pick 8

This is the very definition of starting the *ing car. Early debut on the cards at his size and with his skillset. Debuted at WAFL seniors and had 20+ possessions, bloke is born ready.
