They seem to be pretty confident in doing so. The quality might not be there, but if they are fielding two sides consistently then that will be a great effort in itself.
Moama and usually Cobram smash it in the juniors generally, Nathalia did win the 17s in 2022 though. Most years all clubs are competitive. My opinion, Moama should be pushing to join the GV anyway, they have a very strong junior football and netball set up that could provide them a platform to...
The KDL would gain more junior sides in their fourths comp if it went to U/15s. Guarantee Stanhope and a Lancaster or Girgarre would be able to field teams in this age group if it was available.
Kyabram and Echuca couldn’t care less about the kids that aren’t in their single U/16 sides. Kyabram...
Boy oh boy, wowee, been a bit happening on here, couple of shots fired. Well done to Avola on a solid season, joins an illustrious group 😊. Gee imagine how good those blokes that poll 30+ votes in a season must be Ultra!
Taking nothing away from Braydon and this is no slight on him as a...
I haven’t heard that, wouldn’t surprise me though.
From experience, big gamble, I got through training the week after doing mine, and then proceeded to last 30 seconds as it gave way with my first reactive change of direction.
The ground wasnt up to any standard for any comp, probably saved us an extra 5 goal loss, so no complaints on that front. Like I said earlier, there were spots on the ground that your foot would disappear, and then others where you were on top of the ground.
That is where the problem lies, that...
Yes
Yeah mate, I knew when putting the Hoppers in the Seymour comp that it would be against their wishes. I actually had Murch not in there until I realised Thornton-Eildon were no longer 🙈
Agree, the only way you will have a chance of full compliments of juniors in most comps is if you get rid of the GMJFL above U/12s, which should be seriously considered.
All leagues run as U/14 and U/17 with the GV U/16 (Still play Sundays and run it with womens football games) & U/18 only
We lost 2 key position 1 pointers in the first couple of rounds, we brought up a 2s player who came to the club to play with his two brothers and also has a sister heavily involved with the netball, played only reserves football at Tongala and Gig before that. He is a 3 pointer. An absolute joke.
Nagambie- largest town, close to Melbourne, should be winning a flag 3-4 times a decade.
Shepp East- located on the outskirts of a city with three underachieving major league clubs to pillage
Lancaster- 5 minutes from the best GV club of the past decade with players coming their way year after...
And just checked, Longwood, Undera & Tally have all been over 40 all season and have maxed out on their extra 45/46pts on more than one occasion, it has got them to be competitive in some eyes, but the truth of the matter is none of them will probably play finals unfortunately.
No points system allows your Longwoods, Underas, Tallygaroopnas etc to compete for finals and recruit without the headache of points. The strong sides, points or not are nearly always there. Nagambie, Lancaster, Shepp East, Stanhope, Murch. And this is in all leagues. Look at the sides in the 3...
Working for your 3rds side, I suppose we will see in years to come whether that translates into senior success.
Either you are a liar or not over all that goes on at the club, or you have a 3rds kid thats a liar 🤥
And I wasn’t the one that broached the subject in the first place, so seems I am...
All well and good Mystery man, but how many ‘senior’ players would be happy to play a season of reserves football? And on top of that, with no guarantee that they will have a senior side next year.
Just * the points system off.
