At the game today, and I know it’s early days in a new coaches tenure, but does anyone know what our gameplan or blueprint is for this team? Tackle count was really poor, no forward pressure, no sustained short kicking to retain possession and work up the ground, no clear structure to slingshot...
This is spot on. How someone can kick the ball from the goal square and have it marked inside the point post is insane. The posts are 6 metres apart - it can’t possibly be 15 metres - yet umps just let it go and call mark.
I’m firmly of the opinion that this isn’t the hardest game to umpire in...
Really disagree. If GWS stay fit they will be the team to beat. The last 14 weeks, once they’d locked in their game plan, were clearly the best team in the AFL - results wise, stats wise etc etc.- by a country mile. The umpiring in the last quarter last week was the biggest joke I’ve seen all...
Odd question - any chance of Kosi playing KPD?
I don’t know his game at all honestly (work ethic, agility etc) but could Yze see something there like a Himmelberg situation?
The really odd thing for me watching this tonight, Richmond 2017, 2018 or 2019 would have absolutely destroyed both of these teams tonight. For all of the “improvements” in the game, our pressure would have honestly won easily tonight.
Hey Tigerob.
Firstly - Welcome to the forum(!!) and thanks for posting.
I just feel concerned you have to ask for people to take it easy on you when you’re posting for the first time. It possibly says you have a vibe………which I don’t think is unfounded. For me this forum has always been a fun...
The media outrage over the Croms non-review just makes me laugh. Where was this outrage last year when a systemic process wasn’t even followed? The AFL had a golden opportunity to fix it - but that would have been too embarrassing. You just knew eventually another cockup would highlight the...
I guess the question I’m asking - and invoking the Leigh Matthews adage “you can’t win anything without a good spine” - is Tylar Young good enough to be a finals player in a solid spine?
I just have serious doubts - but happy to hear otherwise………(and would be delighted to be proven wrong tbh).
At the game today and interesting polite conversation in the outer with clearly a Tylar Young fan (and I hope not family…..). 😬
Talking to my son raising my concerns re his game, and a phone appears from the seats in front of me from said supporter talking of pressure acts, score involvements...
It’s never as good as it seems, and it’s never as bad as it seems (as the saying goes) - but boy our midfield just looks slow - and pretty well has all season. I still remember Rowell and Anderson torching us at Marvel earlier this year, and Dogs just did the same. Lynch and Gibcus back next...
So I’m dulling the pain of watching this with a 12yo single malt Irish whisky. Imagine Groupie on the VB longnecks?
Any other poison being used out there lads to make this even remotely bearable to watch?
This umpiring is criminal in the Suns game. I honestly don’t understand wtf is going on with frees - and I’ve been watching footy for 50 years.
Frustratingly - what has happened to this game!?!?!?
I know things are s**t when mates are texting me asking WTF?!?! re decisions against us or not going our way.
Can someone at the club just honestly please say something!?!?!? Just to show us you have our back?
This is honestly getting hard to watch without getting angry. It’s not good for my...
I don’t care what anyone says - Marlion is a great (brilliant!) story - for our club and for all people who seek redemption in life.
I hope this is bollocks - but I know we have to support him. I can’t walk in his shoes - none of us can - and he’s innocent until anything drops.
Until then -...
Wow - honestly sick of people potting kids in their first 20 games and calling time on their careers. History tells us repeatedly - form early on fluctuates hugely, and some players take a bit longer to develop at this level (and let’s be honest, on a global scale - AFL is a pretty damn shallow...
