AFL Player 14: Jordan Ridley - Injured his calf in Round 6

I'd say that decision has already been made given how poor he was on a wing last year compounded with the acquisition of Cutler.
  2. MightyDons4

    Free Agent # 6: Joe Daniher - derp ex-Brisbane ex-player

By not trading Daniher for 9 + future first and doing the same deal Carlton did with Gold Coast, we've essentially turned down two late 1st round picks to keep him on the injury list for another year. If you go by DPS' board, he had Kemp at 3 and Robertson at 4, both of whom were available at...

Delisted #46: Mitchell Hibberd - Not offered a contract for 2021

Pretty sure his left knee is the one he's done his ACL twice in already. Not looking good.

    Position 2020 Rucks

Lycett averaged 122 when Ryder was out of the side. He's the only one worth considering outside of the big two.

    Free Agent # 6: Joe Daniher - derp ex-Brisbane ex-player

It's been close to two years now since the injury first surfaced and there's still no clarity on when he will return to normal training let alone playing next. Any injury that's being 'played by ear' is worrying as it suggests no one really has a clue what's going on.

    Free Agent # 6: Joe Daniher - derp ex-Brisbane ex-player

Also would've given us the cap room to chase a guy like Wines. I don't hold much hope for him fully recovering from an injury that's been debilitating him for the past two years and also forced his brother into and early retirement. Too many big egos at the club to look past the Daniher name and...

Certified Legendary Thread Delusional Pearlers IV

I mean, he ain't wrong about Hurley. Still considerably better than any KPD Hawthorn has however.

Delisted #20: Jacob Townsend - Not offered a contract for 2021, off to the suns as a DFA

Dyl dropped off badly late last season due to the toll the role took on his body. Getting Townsend in for nothing to give him a rest or even play alongside him is a solid move.

Recruiting Draft Watch - Jones, Bryan, Johnson, Cahill, Hibberd in

Maybe it's a reflection of my judgement, but I fail to see much of a difference in quality between Robertson and Rowell.

He was my favourite player of this draft and one I was really hopeful that Essendon could select. I liked Philp a lot and had him rated higher than many others because his athleticism sets him apart from other midfielders whilst I believe his weaknesses are easily improved upon. The main knock...

We just got Cutler who has a very similar set of strengths and weaknesses.

    Delisted #28: Mitch Brown - Retired - 20/9/22

Mitch Brown was as much a key forward as Zac Clarke was a ruckman. His delisting was a logical decision that I'm very surprised we actually made.

What about people who call him Philip?

Pretty easy I'd say. Thanks for your services Mitch.

Quite like the sound of Robbo. Big, tough campaigner with a good tank. We definitely have a place in our midfield for him to help protect Merrett and Shiel whilst also helping Clarke lock down on opposition mids.

I might be bias as he's probably my favourite of this years class. If anything I think the worry will be that he'll go earlier than our picks in the 30's. Genuine inside mids with top end speed and endurance are quite rare to come by.

Serious overs. Bonar only cracked 20+ touches in 5/16 NEAFL games this year.

Recruiting Draft Watch - Jones, Bryan, Johnson, Cahill, Hibberd in

I don't think there's a person on this forum that doesn't believe that our current midfield is undersized. The point of a couple of hypothetical trades and positional changes was to show just how easily our current dynamic can be improved upon. This is why we can and should select the best...

Recruiting Draft Watch - Jones, Bryan, Johnson, Cahill, Hibberd in

I did say one of the more dominant stoppage players. Not on the level of Rowell and Green yet still more than capable in his own right. He's such a smart footballer and uses his body and movement so well that it hold him in great stead when playing in the midfield or up forward.
  24. MightyDons4

Recruiting Draft Watch - Jones, Bryan, Johnson, Cahill, Hibberd in

No. Dev to half forward and Andy to half back with both rotating through the middle on occasion. Correct. Strange example. Except we don't have to trade them, just alter their roles. Zaka is not apart of the midfield anymore. Improving the midfield is not doubt our top priority coming into...

Recruiting Draft Watch - Jones, Bryan, Johnson, Cahill, Hibberd in

I find it funny how you refer to Flanders as a small forward despite him being one of the more dominant stoppage players in this years crop. Riddle me this; if Flanders spent his underage year as a midfielder getting 16 touches a game and then had an identical 2019, you would laud him as a...

So because he's their first local prospect he has to sit in the NEAFL indefinitely? They're so stacked for inside mids he played mostly on a wing in the second half of the year.

Recruiting Trade & Free Agency VII

Move McGrath to half back, Smith to half forward and add a couple of big, athletic contested mids (i.e. SPP, Blakely, Shipley). Suddenly we have the perfect mix in the middle.
  29. MightyDons4

Recruiting Trade & Free Agency VII

Because Blakely was played off a back flank. He blitzes Langford when playing in the midfield.
