    Review Dogs Beat Bombers

41 years ago (1985) we beat Essendon on a sunny day in April in front of 33,000+ at the Western Oval, and the ground anouncer said over the loud speaker “for all you bulldogs fans, Footscray are on top of the ladder!!” There were scenes of pure excitement not seen until under the grand stands of...

No Oppo Supporters Non Bulldog Footy Talk - Bulldogs Only - Part 6

Little taps and knocks aren’t nearly as bad as ‘heading’ the soccer ball which has real concussive affects. What happened to Weitering today was way worse than both these things.

Brain dead commentators reckon it’s ok to cop a full blooded knee into the back of the head and concuss their opponents? Because they say ‘speccy’s’ are an important part of our history. These same people couldn’t give two cents for our history and want to change it at every other chance. The...

All Things Gather Round (Except our game!)

I too want red shorts, especially v North and WCE. And I reckon navy shorts too would look great to darken the clash if needed. Up until 1975 we wore black shorts every home game at the Western Oval. Both black or navy looks so good against the royal blue jumper.

All Things Gather Round (Except our game!)

If I never see Robo dog again it will be too soon🤮 Cartoons and Aussie rules football guernsey’s don’t go together very good at all, including our horrendous clash guernsey this season. I really like our ‘traditional’ white hooped clash guernsey.

Cursed only because we would only ever play West Coast at Subiaco in it, when we were crap (McCartney era) and they were good. Other than that it looks great.

All Things Gather Round (Except our game!)

Are we wearing a Gather Round specific guernsey like a lot of other teams are? I think Hawthorn is wearing a horrible all brown jumper with an old Hawk head logo on it. I’ve heard a rumour we could be rocking in this old jumper that I really don’t mind?

    News New Jumpers for 2026

About 10 years ago. Could never win in it because we were always playing a strong West Coast. Probably should wear it v North and West Coast away. But I’ve always thought the least we should do is wear our old red shorts v North and West Coast away or home. Clubs need to be smarter with...

These look great because they’re traditional Aussie rules guernsey’s. Many non AFL teams have these particular colours in the same templates.

Toast Welcome to the Temple of Bontempelli, please take off your shoes and pay your respects

Bont won’t be defined by the Brownlow at all. He will be remembered as the all time Bulldogs player if he is part of another premiership and probably equally with EJ if that flag doesn’t happen. The Brownlow has lost a lot of credibility recently. The years Dane Swan and Chris Judd won, should...

    Discussion Tasmania AFL Jumper Design

I’m happy with the unique spin on a traditional jumper but still want it to look like an Aussies rules jumper not soccer or basketball. Both Suns attempts miss the mark, both in the most generic of colours (red) too.

    Discussion Tasmania AFL Jumper Design

I actually think the opposite. I always reckoned the 2 recent start up teams in non traditional football territory should have had traditional Aussies rules templates ie sash, stripes, hoops etc but with colours that reflected their geographical location and that weren’t anything like their...

The white Port number panel still causing problems. I get its Port’s jumper and they’re entitled to wear what they want. But if I were a Port fan I’d find it frustrating that most games you have to watch are a bit of a cluster @&$£ to the eyeballs. Black is the darkest colour and white is the...

The idiots who approved the Suns and Giants uniforms in the AFL needed to go to this fella who not only gets traditional Aussie rules guernsey’s, which a new twist, but colours that wouldn’t clash with established cross town rivals.

Why on earth are North wearing a clash guernsey tonight? Their traditional home jumper is a white based jumper and has never clashed with Essendon in over 100 years, especially as the away side. Why does North have a white based clash guernsey, when their home jumper is white based too? How...

It doesn’t have to be less like the Dogs because the colours are way different. We have Richmond and Essendon share exact same templates as well as North, Collingwood and Hawthorn all with the same templates too.

    Toast Bulldogs Jumper Thread

A lot of clubs are doing Gather Rounds guernsey’s. This would be an obvious one I reckon if we were to do one. We used this guernsey in the night series in the late 70’s Central Districts in the SANFL then picked it up and used this design for about 15 years.

    Jumper clash fails

The incompetence of the AFL admin is at an all time high now. This old Fitzroy jumper is a great football guernsey but this is NOT the game to wear it. Even the umpires colours this year have been atrocious. Thursday night the umps wore yellow with black shorts, very similar to Crows in dark...

Discussion AFL Round 3, 2026: Photos and Discussion

This old Fitzroy guernsey is one of the all time great Aussie rules jumpers. But surely they should’ve worn the red with yellow FFC to contrast against the Saints at home? Even a gold based FFC guernsey, that was never worn would be a nod to Fitzroy and work as a proper clash jumper. Amateur...

I’m not ‘derailing’ anything, just adding a statistically more important issue to be addressed, that old school networks never give a crap about. The fact that the slight drop in indigenous participation meant that it became a thing that the media and AFL admin are addressing, yet the massive...

Not false equivalence but it’s way too easy to say more indigenous participation because all the right people pat you on the back when the AFL probably don’t really care about the indigenous participation, but themselves looking good. The indigenous participation in the AFL is actually above...

Reasons for disenchantment / lower attendance

It would be good if we were actually able to attend a match. 4 of our first 6 games are interstate or Geelong which is both regional and always a lockout and of the 2 home games one is Easter Sunday night, the least possible timeslot if you want to take your family away. And in between all that...
