Preview Round 6 2024 – Carlton vs GWS Giants, Saturday April 20, 4.35pm AEST, Marvel Stadium

I’m amazed we are still paying $2. We will win this. Carlton will struggle to defend us in transition and will likely struggle to transition from D50 themselves. Severely lacking leg speed and missing some of their better ball users.

Preview Round 6 2024 – Carlton vs GWS Giants, Saturday April 20, 4.35pm AEST, Marvel Stadium

Not really risky. Picking the next best key defender when Taylor got injured seems obvious. There is a structure that they obviously want to retain. HH or Idun go down and Haynes will be in. Also why I think Cumming will be in the same boat as Haynes when fit. If everyone is fit there isn’t an...

Without Gov and Saad they are going to be so reliant on Williams to exit d50. If our forwards sit on Williams and keep the pressure up we should create a heap of F50 turnover opportunities

No excuses this weekend. The blues have a long injury list and we are really only missing 2 from best 23.

Preview Round 6 2024 – Carlton vs GWS Giants, Saturday April 20, 4.35pm AEST, Marvel Stadium

Was due to injuries and although he can do it he really struggled against the bigger key forwards which is what we are up against this weekend. We had Davis/Cornes/Mohr/Patful/Corr/Tomlinson who were all playing Key back to allow Haynes to play third tall. Given Keefe didn’t play at any level...

Preview Round 6 2024 – Carlton vs GWS Giants, Saturday April 20, 4.35pm AEST, Marvel Stadium

I keep look at at Thomas, wehr and Peatling as the ones most likely to make way for Jones but they are all playing their role nicely and deserve to hold their spot. Bedford has been serviceable but is down on output from last year and I think that is reflected in our forward half game being a...

Hope we go with Aleer or Keefe this week and don’t make the mistake of playing Haynes as key back. We just need a stopper who can bring it to ground against big Key forwards a Haynes isn’t that. Ward straight swap for Cogs. Really want to see Jones get a game cause he will keep his spot once...

i think Thomas has had a good run and needs a spell so swap him for Jones. Ward for Wehr if he is ready with Callaghan/XO/Kelly playing wing. I suspect Haynes might be back to sub this week too

If they all become good players they will have a really good mix of talls up forward. Problem they have is like us initially it’s hard to get game time into a lot of KPP all at the same time while still being competitive (not sure how the pressure will be on rebound) Walter King Lukosious Read

Preview Round 4, 2024 - GIANTS vs GCS, 12.30 pm AEST April 7th, Adelaide Hills

bank the win and move on. 3 more debuts for GCS suggests Dima is happy to lose some games in order to get games into his youth and happy if it costs the games in the short term. They are reasonably tall 8 KP players with 4 over 200cm. Witts back in helps them but the question for them will...

Now he is playing mid he can cover all 4 lines and has a bit of zip to impact as sub. Hopefully wasn’t just due to opposition. I had him marked as a delisting this year. Happy to be wrong about him.

If you have been paying attention the TV commentators have started referring to Hogan as a pick 2. I think zero hanger or one of those then copied. No coincidence that it only started when he started playing well.

Preview Round 2 2024 – West Coast Eagles vs GWS Giants, Sunday March 24, 6.50pm AEDT, Optus Stadium

I hope we don’t star Haynes on a wing. Unless there is an injury in the back 7 he really shouldn’t be in the 22. He isn’t quick and his disposal isn’t up to playing on a wing. XO made a few mistakes but has enough runs on the board. Wehr should get another game but if not then give Angwin a run

Preview Round 2 2024 – West Coast Eagles vs GWS Giants, Sunday March 24, 6.50pm AEDT, Optus Stadium

Under Leon we lose that game. We didn’t player very well but won comfortably. North played alright and were able to put pressure on the ball which caused skill errors and turnovers on our part. To be expected from a young team first game of the year. As long as we are banking wins for the...

Was stoked when we got him to replace jezza. Really good as a focal point where as jezza plays his best when he has someone else in the role (Patton, lobb,Hawkins). Structurally has been soo good for us and is going to love having the ball coming in fast all season and defences not being able to...

Preview Round 1 2024 - GWS Giants v North Melbourne, 4.35 pm Saturday 16 March @ ENGIE Stadium

I get the feeling that those who played round 0 will have a big advantage round 1. The rustiness that happens in your first game we have already worked through. Wardy’s injury isn’t ideal but one out one in with Callaghan or perryman It is going to be interesting to see how Kingsley gets the...

Preview Opening Round 2024, GWS Giants vs Collingwood, Saturday March 9, 7.30pm AEST, Giants Stadium

Really only 2 guaranteed best 22 players out in Callaghan and Perryman. Cumming borderline at this stage. Pies have Howe, Mcstay and Murphy out so injuries aren’t an excuse. I think Haynes plays cause we have a couple out. But he does t really have a position in the team now cause he isn’t in...

He is not Dangerfield but he has that real burst/power away from/through/away from the contest. XO/Callaghan/Jelly is a pretty good wing combo

Looks like XO could be another. He got a couple of looks against the swans but that might have just been picking up the slack from Callaghan.

He won bnf for in a team playing Green’s role. There isn’t room for 2 of them with the game plan we now play. Taranto is a very good player but he isn’t a good fit for the giants now and would have made us worse against the pies if he was swapped for Ward.

List Mgmt. 2024 GWS Giants List Management - Academy, Free Agent, Trade & Draft

I’d take Ward this year over Taranto in the giants system this year. The only way in for Taranto would be for Green otherwise he’d throw the balance out. We got rid of hopper and Taranto cause the balance is in our mids was out. Kelly/cogs/ward had to play out of position to accomodate him cause...

Given we have Green it would be a pass for me. Great player but too slow for our new game style. In a full strength team he wouldn’t get a game. We only really player 5 through the centre square and you wouldn’t replace any of them with him. Cogs, Kelly, green, Callaghan and Ward.
