Acting like I "won a point" ??? Not sure about that... :D
I was just setting you straight because you seemed to be a little confused about her role.
It turns out however, I was the one who was confused. :$
The AFL have restructured things over the past couple of years with the appointment of...
Paging Strapping Young Lad to the thread!!!!
We need your input for today
Bombfire and Red Bull have stuck the boot into young Watson
We can't let that go unchallenged.
It's far more accurate to call Ablett Snr a Half Forward-Full Forward than a Wing-Half Forward
And I'm not talking about 1993-1996.
I'm referring to the vast majority of minutes & games he played from 1985-1992
No he didn't. He played on the wing in 1984 and played up forward from 1985-1996
Singling out the occasional game (or quarter) where he played up the ground as your reasoning for labelling him as a wing/half forward is just a crock of bullshit.
Every single AFL player spends a few minutes (or...

Nope. Geelong were the premiership favourites heading into the 2023 season. Most of the pundits in the media were tipping them to go back-to-back. Nobody saw the drop-off coming, except for the haters who'd been predicting Geelong's demise every year since 2015. (People jumped off the Cats...
Nope. She is not in a “strategic role”. She is the General Manager of Football Operations.
Her role is to oversee and administer the day-to-day, week-to-week aspects of AFL footy.
The 2023 draft is done
Nick Watson did not ask to be selected at pick 5. Our recruiting guys did that. He is now one of 44 players on the Hawthorn list. We can either get behind him and show him our support as Hawks fans... Or we can moan about how we should've picked Ryley Sanders, Caleb...
Yeah... Poor guy suffered an horrific broken leg
He must've been a real spud to be selected with pick 9 in the Superdraft and snap his leg in two, break his collar-bone, tear up his knee, break his leg a second time and then suffer persistent hamstring injuries.
Seems like a weird group of 5 to pick out as the best young guns.
Is Matt Rowell a better footballer than Noah Anderson?
Is he better than Rozee, Serong, Ashcroft, Sheezel or Horne-Francis?
2018 Draft: S.Walsh, Z.Butters, C.Rozee, M.King, B.King, J.Lukosius, I.Rankine, N.Blakey, B.Smith,

Or they weren't mentally fit for AFL footy and didn't really want to play. e.g. Tom Boyd and Cam McCarthy
Lots of reasons why players don't make it.
But it doesn't change the point I made about injuries to the likes of Thorp, Gumbleton, etc.
Mitch Thorp had no luck with injury. Constant niggles plus a few serious injuries which prevented him from ever getting a clear run at it. He broke the sesamoid bone in his foot and needed surgery to pin it and remove bone fragments. Lost a season with that. Even more problematic was a hip...
I hope he keeps playing for another few years. I don't think I could handle watching the footy on 7 with Danger, Selwood and Lingy all providing the special comments at Geelong home games.:D
No, it's good rule and we needed it because too many players were cheap-shotting opponents by diving into their legs and causing ACLs and broken legs
The problem is when umpires get it wrong and incorrectly penalise the player who is there first & over the ball (Stocker) and they reward the...
The only problem with that defence is that Miers didn't throw the boot over the boundary line and out of the play. He piffed the boot 20m towards the centre of the ground where another unsuspecting player might've stepped on it and rolled their ankle on the ensuing passage of play.
Herp derp.
