Yeah the rules are the same for both sides, WA obviously batted conservatively in overs 90-100 in their first innings to keep Tassie from getting an extra tenth of a bonus point, and Tassie batted very conservatively in their first innings to completely remove any chance of winning a draw...

Don’t know if it would have made a difference to the final outcome, but Tassie would be kicking themselves for blowing it against South Australia. Dethroning the defending champs on their home deck was always going to be a really tall ask.

I went to the fourth day of play and arrived about a half hour after play started when WA had lost two wickets. Sat through about 6 hours of cricket and saw one wicket fall. Nice to see Whiteman and Hardie put the match out of reach but boy was that a boring day to attend.

Bonus points are handy but with a 5 day match, scoring down across the comp and no chance of rain, you’d be pretty surprised if there aren’t 20 wickets taken in 450 overs of play.
