I think we (or at least me) would be a bit happier with him if he was pick 30 instead of pick 10.
He's coming along okay - looks like an AFL player, which I didn't think was a guarantee a month or so ago.
Not having a go, but every fan of every team says/thinks this.
Our emergencies over the weekend were two teenagers and a utility who hasn't played a game of AFL nor VFL since round 2. I know you said 'by the end of the year', but we'll have the same amount of injuries then as we do now.
Feel the same way.
It was his best game of the year, so you give him props for that. But he also wasn't great. And I'm starting to think that's how his career may end up. He's just an okay ruck.
I actually think this is the week it will. Lav’s been a good foot soldier, but he can’t get a game next week after today. Hayes has been better for about a month now. It’s time
You can see how that reads a bit confusing though, right?
You're saying Scott/the coaches have been turning the screws and let's see how Draper responds. Where are you getting this info from? Or are you just assuming?
Agree to an extent, but you can't keep Caddy in the VFL until Stringer retires. I think we'll end up giving him (Stringer) a two-year deal.
I just don't see Zurhaar as a need. I'd rather try to find replacements for a few of our defenders who are getting older, personally.
They're also 20 and professional athletes. I don't think a late(ish) night or early morning is going to bother them too much. Agree it's not exactly ideal prep, but just being in that real AFL environment would have it's benefits.
I kinda like the idea of them hanging around the AFL team for a little bit. They're probably unlikely to play any senior footy this year, I'm glad they're emergencies - let's them not they're not far off. We were also obviously extremely short of options.
I honestly don't think so this year. Going to be hard for him to develop alongside a bunch of blokes who are just VFL level, if that. He is one (probably along with Roberts) who really has earned a chance.
I'd rather him playing next to McKay.
He also doesn't have to come in forever. Give him...
Fair enough in a winning side too - I hope Shiel doesn't just automatically leapfrog him though (Roberts). I'm a big Shiel fan - seemingly a lot more than most on here - but I hope he's made to earn his spot back. I only watched the VFL last week online, but he wasn't good enough to bring...
He’s 5+ years older than everyone else. We don’t want to break him. Nothing wrong with a week on the sidelines. Imagine bringing him in fresh for the first bound on Anzac day
I thought Davey was great. His skills look like they could be really good once he gets used to the level. There were for sure a few times where he did appear to not want to go 100% at a hard ball/contest - whether that was instructed or nerves, who knows. It admittedly didn't look great. His...
I agree. Harry's pressure, at least to the eye test, looks pretty close to elite for a bigger guy too.
What about the next step? Can you have Wright, Jones, Langford & Stringer in the same forward line, along with Gresham? Not sure what the solution is, but that looks to really be lacking that...
**** that. If he was late to training or had a beer when he wasn’t supposed to or something you could probably just overlook it.
The stuff he’s been accused of is gross. Not a young guy making mistakes-type of situation imo.
