Think of it this way, Seeing the names is like reading a list of items in a warehouse, all you need is the piece of paper the names are written on. To actually get the item requires the physical object of it, sure you can just grab it piece by piece but what happens when 5,000 other people want...

It’s like trying to pick up a 100kg stone, you can do it but it’s going to take longer than a 10kg stone. The number of pages matters because to retrieve a thread you need to know everything that’s in it, when you consider how many users there are on BF that tends to add up rather exponentially

To expand on that, whilst I have nothing to do with BF in that capacity it would be a load issue yes due to the volume. I’d assume that to load a thread would require the entire thread to be accessed in the request and whatnot
