Could we take a moment to pay credit where credit is due for Jack Crisp.
Sure I get it that the club has fluffed a few of its lines over the last decade but one of the things it has got right is the sniffing out from Brisbane of this fella from Myrtleford. He was good on the weekend, and has...
Thanks for the Memories Langers.
You got as much out of your frame as possible for a mature age late pick, and there were times you showed far more experienced players a thing or two about composure under the ball in the air. If your disposal had its moments, it also had its good moments...
Look, I am just an old duffer popping in for a post season gander at the vibe. But can I just comment on the above. Yes the Tiges had a glorious era in the late 60s and early 70s and are having another now. But they had circa 35 years between 1982 and 2017 when they werent going within a...
My sincere apologies to the man. If he is raising dough for the RCH with it then I can sort of see why he would continue with it. My (uninformed) comment was purely on aesthetic grounds.
Geez it was great to see Dunn get that goal, but I wish his Mum would tell him to get a haircut.
I havent seen a mullet like that since an Adelaide player (Wayne Weideman?) in the early 90s, and when your mullet is in the same league as an Adelaide mullet then its probably time to think about...
I reckon if Sier can get himself in good shape, and get his attitude into 'I am going to make this happen' rather than 'I am going to be ripe for when this happens to me' then he can make a very meaningful difference to the Pies. I actually think that he and Wills can play in the same side but...
I must confess I simply fail to see the logic behind some of the comments here regarding trading Grundy. He is the best ruck in the competition by a fair distance.
We want best players in their positions wherever we can get them. Where we have one I would be looking first at whatever we can do...

I would have thought he would be a monty to play 100 club games. He will be a mainstay back again next year, he will get the occasional run with role and can be the big body mid just fine. My only real quibble with the guy is the occasional possession turned over - but as I sit here and think...
and some vid

I like this guy. I dunno what freak of vision Decka had on a 16 year old but every time I clap my eyes on Sier he looks more and more like the real deal.
There is a species of Time Lord about him I reckon...
I love the look of Jordy De Goey,
But Gazza Ablett was simply playing in a different dimension. As a Pies man who lived in Geelong in the 1980s and early 90s it was almost every week I would be looking at either Ablett or Daicos.....
Gary Ablett senior simply did things that mere mortals...
Note to self: Find odds on Chris Mayne to place in Brownlow top 10 - worth a nap bet (not the whole mortgage, but maybe just a John Flynn, Mary Reibey); will get games and is durable
Pass mark for the 2019 Pies.
Well lets see.......
The Premiership, for sure - but I would like them about 9 goals up at 3/4 time.
Of course we would need the Brownlow to go with that (I could take Treloar or Grundy [first of maybe 2 or 3 for both], maybe Sier [a Brownlow in his second...
Well there are predictions and predictions.
I am predicting......
There will be a far more intense scrutiny of the Pies this year than last.
There will be a lot more competition for spots in the side.
More sides will try to work Grundy over in the Ruck (with two bigs)
More sides will struggle...
Yeah, I almost certainly cant help myself either. Your point is right. If someone had asked me if I thought they would play in the Grand Final in March I would have suggested some psychiatric treatment. I took some friends to see the Carlton game early in the season (I live in the country)...
I am broadly in this camp. There was an Age article (I think it was Michael Gleeson) a couple of days later which summed it up for me. Just an afternoon of epic heroism, mixed with deep foreboding, which gave way to a mounting sense of doom. I was completely gutted – and am not sure I can...
I watched that game and in parts found myself wondering if Mayne had had some sort of juvenile footballer reversion therapy. He was up and galloping about like a colt, selling candy and getting right up Tiger noses with some nifty tackling and positional nous.
I reckon if he can swing picking...
I reckon Kennedy has been back the extra few weeks now, and that we probably wont be able to get away with Tyson Goldsack doing a solo blanket again, and Darling will pose an issue if they can get the ball out of the middle.
I would look at Moore (or maybe even Magden) coming back just to...
I said this last week..........
He kicks another goal or two in the second half and we enter a new dimension (and my neighbours may get sick of me yelling his name loudly)
I like him. Does anyone think he isnt worth persevering with at the moment?
I thought he was genuinely poor last week but much better against the GWS - so much so I wondered if the first final aspect of things may have freaked him a bit.
This week he was a threat and he did certainly take on some rucking load, and those big grabs to provide an outlet from defence were...
This, completely this!
OK So Pendles and Steelo didnt have magnificent games (I didnt think they were that bad). But of all the sides in the comp which would nut out a close down Sydney would be first and foremost. Then on top of that, playing a rookie (who I thought was more than OK) in key...
I've never bagged him on this board (that i can recall) but I have in chatting with friends. I owe Chris Mayne an apology too. His attitude and commitment are an example to us all. He has reinvented himself in a foreign environment, taken pretty much the worst that can be loaded on any...
I must confess that looking through the showreel from last night I couldnt help but wonder if somehow, defying the fates that are the Collingwood Football Club, I was watching a longshot draft choice, made by an astute recruiter, matured over a few seasons in the magoos to play in a particular...
I actually reckon he has been OK last week and this. There isnt much with his kicking (what has happened to his kicking - at one point he was a real dead eye dick with Freo) but he has been getting to contests and contesting. Good on him I say.
