Good sign that Hayes is fit enough to be the emergency.

Usually, yes. But Harley Reid legitimately looks like he could be the best player in the comp by the end of the season.

I was wondering what happened to David Wheaton. Glad to hear he is still around - we need him more than ever.

Preview Round 6, 2024: St Kilda v Western Bulldogs - Marvel Stadium, Thursday 18 April, 7.30pm AEST

A wild game, but I too could not help thinking throughout that despite the heroic comeback, that team was destined for a decade in the wilderness whereas the Dogs went on to win a flag the next year. And then in the corner, North is towelling up Richmond, only to think that that Richmond side...

I really liked Jones' game against Collingwood after getting subbed in for Wood, but he was very poor last week.

Toast Welcome to St.Kilda - DARCY WILSON!

Of all of our exciting youngsters (NWM, Owens, Windy, Pou), I reckon Wilson has found his feet the quickest of them all.

And Marshall was well beaten by him last time if memory serves.

I reckon they have us well and truly covered on every line.

    Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Richmond v St.Kilda

Owens is a truly putrid set shot in every sense. To my mind, that is a very significiant reason why we should not be deploying him in a position which will result in forward 50 marks.

    Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Richmond v St.Kilda

I reckon both Mitch and Matteas are suffering from playing ill-defined, or at least difficult to execute, roles.

    Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Richmond v St.Kilda

I think you're probably right. Kudos to Ross for giving full credit to an opposition player in a losing side. Can't say the same for Yze. To award 10 of a possible 15 votes to Richmond in a game where they lost (and on most measures comprehensively outplayed for 3 quarters) is a poor reflection.

Wouldn't mind seeing Phillopou spend some time on a half back flank.

    Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Richmond v St.Kilda

There's barely any point looking ahead and predicting our win-loss in a month's time. It's a very, very even competition right now. I expect we'll be in most matches and just need to make the most of our luck and opportunities (which we have not done to date).

    Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Richmond v St.Kilda

I get the sense that Ross has some philosophical objection to the sub.

And it was notable to hear that Hastie was watching vision with Wood. Wood is just an absolute gem to have around the club.

Wonder if Jones will sub again as part of managing his minutes given his history. Played less than 50% last week, (probably more than expected given Wood).

From the outside, Hastie is such a strange choice for so many reasons. Shows how much we don't know.

    Preview Round 3, 2024: Essendon v St.Kilda - Marvel Stadium, Saturday 30th March, 4:20PM AEDT *HASTIE DEBUT*

Hotton is the disappointing one. He seems to have had a full preseason, is not some rangy tall who is a slow burn, and yet seems to have been surpassed by the newest drafties.

    News 2024 St.Kilda Media Thread

Hoyne's commentary is very interesting and encouraging. But I reckon that Wood and Henry out is really going to test our ability to keep up that system. Both are big parts of our end to end ball movement in different ways, and neither is going to be easily replaced.

    Preview Round 3, 2024: Essendon v St.Kilda - Marvel Stadium, Saturday 30th March, 4:20PM AEDT *HASTIE DEBUT*

I don't think he is being helped by the fact that has "utility" attributes. I'd much prefer if he was settled into a single position. At the moment it feels like he's getting a bit of the Josh Battle treatment.

    Discussion 2024 General AFL Discussion

Removing the player from the team is what avoids the test. Whether something feels like an "offence" is not really the standard - if it is one it should be easily verified.

    Discussion 2024 General AFL Discussion

It's not clear to me what code has been violated, what is criminal (per Edmunds), and what is the "voluntary policy". All very ambiguous in the reporting.
