Heard a whisper from a very well-connected Carlton person that Paul Roos is essentially locked in to be in a ‘Director of Coaching’ type role at the Blues next year.
My former boss just left his current job and will be starting a new role with ISC in VIC. It would be strange that they're hiring new staff if they're about to go bust. He also mentioned that ISC were fancied to take over from X Blades who currently make all the apparel for St Kilda as that...
Not sure about this. My boss is leaving his current job for a role with them and he said the other day they're fancied to take over X-Blades' sponsorship of St Kilda.
The rumour I've heard today is a suburban footy club is denying a clearance for Sam Rowe to play for St Kilda unless the Saints pay $100K as compensation for Rowe not being able to play local footy. The whisper is Saints hierarchy has even called the club trying to get the clearance through and...
I'm just saying that if they did know then I would have a little less sympathy for them. But it doesn't mean they should have their personal contact details posted online.
Interesting times ahead with Gary Kirsten stepping down as Hurricanes coach despite having a year to run on his contract. Adam Griffith to take over Hurricanes as well as coaching the Tigers.
I reckon Lake was a worthy winner. Gunston set the tone early in the game but Lake was vital in the second half when Freo were coming hard. Wouldn’t have been disappointed with either.
Expect to see him get a Hurricanes contract as well. There’s a massive push to bring the Tigers/Hurricanes programs as close to one-another as possible.
Adam Griffith has made wholesale changes to the list ahead of next season. Cam Boyce, Ben Dunk, Jake Hancock, Corey Murfet, Andrew Perrin and Cam Stevenson all axed along with Andrew Fekete moving back to Vic.
Have it on good authority that Boyce won’t be with the Hurricanes next season...
That's my thinking as well. Hard to split them, but ideally only need 8-10 games out of either of them before trading out during the byes. Swallow appeals beacause he's cheaper but Jaeger might be more prominent in the Hawks midfield.
Keen to hear people's thoughts on Jack Steven. Emerged with a massive year in 2013 but hasn't quite got back to that level since. Given the Saints should improve again this year is he a viable POD?
I think both have some scope for improvement, but it's hard to tell which will improve more on their 2016 average. Could avoid both and go with my POD pick from last year (Jack Gunston) instead I suppose.
Interested to hear people's opinions on this one.
Heeney v Caddy
Heeney has been in my team since the 2017 SuperCoach site opened, but I'm uncertain as to how how much midfield time he'll actually get with Mills also pushing for time in the guts. Caddy in a weaker team with more heavy lifting...
Won't be back until Round 2 at the earliest
