Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

Despite the fact I think LDU is overrated and limited by foot he is one of few half decent players they've got approaching his prime. If he leaves, I'm not sure that North are realistically viable as a competitive AFL club. They can't attract free agents and talent they draft leave at the...

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

Did I spy Weddle take and grab deep in the F50 against the Roos? Does anyone know if he lined up there or did he just drift forward on the breeze?

Nths transition defence is the worst I've seen.

Game Day Round 6, 2024: North v Hawks, 4pm Marvel

Both teams desperate for a morale boosting win. If we can't beat this North team this place could burn to the ground.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Showing really promising signs. Boy we need to get lucky here. I'm keeping a lid on. No Jinxing. *he did play North today.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Josh Ward. Extends to 2025!

Terrific response from Josh. Only * is who it was against. But you can only play who you play.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he puts on a show this week. He would be licking his lips looking at the roos backmen.

Could be Gunners last hurrah. If he can't get a kick against that North backline it's time. What a player he was.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

You have to laugh. The people who whinge about Jack not getting frees would have also complained about Selwood getting all those frees.

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

We dont need many, if any, more good average role players. We have them in abundance. We need stars. Either they need to develope from our youngsters, be drafted or traded in. The only question about Lukosius is his heart. He has more talent in his little finger than most of our list. Probably...

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

I hope you are right FP. But if we lose this week it's not going to be a long week but a very long year. Fingers crossed we smash the beggars and calm the sceptics.

Toast All hail the Chief. New AFL legend inductee!

What set him apart for me was his chasing and tackling. No other FF of that era had his defensive, team first mentality. No coincidence that none have his collection of GF medallions either. The true Hawthorn way.

Would be great if its our kids that come to the fore this week and are strong contributors in the win. We are playing a team at a similar age and level.

So we shouldn't try? We should just except our likely fate of mediocrity for the foreseeable future and forget about trying to lure elite talent?

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

No you are right, but it generated star talent . The key to it all. Would we have pick Bud and Rough if the club was set on Thompson, Rawlings and Croad up forward.

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

I don't want to trade Lewis. But we are in a deep hole if he fails to live up to his potential. OUR club traded Croad, Thompson, Rawlings, Hay etc. When it decided they would not take us to where we aspire to be. The top. We are in desperate need of a next generation of star KPPs. Without...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Josh Ward. Extends to 2025!

He's got a ways to go. I hope he wil be a handy player once the team is up and about but he is no game changer. Same for McKenzie. Handy players but we really need game changers ie Rozee+Butters, Rowell+Anderson. If Newk and Day can get to that level the other two should be handy side kicks...

Autopsy Round 5, 2024 - Suns destroy hopeless Hawks

Sadly for Chol he had his worst game for us against a former coach he would have liked to prove wrong. Playing our back pocket at Full Forward didn't work a second time. Desperate times but we were too short up forward. Suns picked us off with ease. (Ramsden not quite there). The Weddle to CHF...

Autopsy Round 5, 2024 - Suns destroy hopeless Hawks

We are just not very good. I think most are finallly coming to this conclusion through constant reinforcement. Facts are, if Lewis, Newk, Day and Sis are playing poorly (or not at all) and the kids are yet to come on, we are pushing S#$t up hill.

    Game Day Round 4, 2024 : Collingwood v Hawthorn, 5:10pm Sunday 7th, Adelaide Oval

Tough watching but not sure we should have expected anything different. Very young team, devoid of A grade experienced talent. Once the pies started playing competently it was all over. Meek giving it his all. Ramsden showing something.

This would be a bigger upset than last time we upset them. The glimmer of hope is we are their bogie team, for some unknown reason.

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn: Mitchell Lewis. Extended to 2026!

Autopsy Round 3, 2024 :Hawks fail against Cats

Sadly predictable result. Same senior players way down on form- Lewis, Newk, Sis, Impey, Bruest... Same players performing to expectations Worps, Chol, Frost, Massimo... We won't win many games with this being the case. We needed our best players to take a step forward for us to move up the...

With Day injured, Newk and Reeves badly out of form we are rolling out the weakest midfield in the comp. The Coolaiders can shout me down all they want.
