Haven't seen this anywhere so wondering if anybody has heard anything.
There's an article by Crackers Keenan in Inside Footy saying that we've "purchased" a new physio from South Australia. He's the guy that Brisbane sent Brown and Fevola to during the season for special treatment. Keenan...
I'm sure he is but the Football Record had a list of all indigenous players and we were credited with 4 plus one rookie. I think that would be Wells,Thomas,Campbell,Benjamin and Cruize as the rookie. The Record had a map of Australia which indicated where all the indigenous players came from but...
Heard her say this on AW today. Admittedly she was talking about the difficulties of having the Football Department and Administration seperated and said things will be better once the redevelopment is opened. Looks weird in isolation but.
Cricket seems to be a game that lends itself to humorous recollections and anecdotes more than most. From the accidental commentary of BBC commentator Brian "Johners" Johnston's "the bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey" to Robin Williams' assessment of cricket as "like baseball on valium"...
Heads up really. Heard that he will be on the Morning Glory tomorrow. Don't know what time but that show's on 6-9. Be interesting to hear what he has to say in the cold light of day.
Could be if Collingwood beat Freo on Friday night. Their supporters may come out in force to support Port because if we stumble they will take fourth and keep it unless the Crows beat the Dogs later in the day.
Don't know if it's been mentioned already and only heard a bit of it on 3AW last night but he really went in to bat for us over the GC issue.
Said things like: "If I were a Kangaroos supporter I wouldn't take this lying down." and "I don't see relocation as a fait accomplis at all."
Didn't get...
Noticed Hun journo and Geelong tragic Jon Anderson tipped the Cats by 55 points today.
I also heard him on 3AW's sports segment this morning and he mused as to whether Geelong should choose King or Hawkins and Byrnes or Stokes. No mention of who they were playing only that "Geelong to win...
Anyone else see this in Rosanne Michie's Sport gossip column in todays Shun?
" What's this we hear about relocation plans from Arden Street to the Gold Coast being faxed in error from the AFL to the Kangaroos? Couldn't be true ,could it?"
2007 TRUenergy VFL Seniors
Tasmania 2.2 5.2 8.8 12.10 (82)
Box Hill Hawks 2.7 7.12 9.15 13.17 (95)
And not much joy for our listed players if these details are anything to go by.
Is that "our" Kris Shore playing for Box Hill ?
GOALS:
Tasmania: Derbyshire 2 Littlejohn...
Was listening to KB's show today when he has regulars Brian Waldron and Neil Balme on. They usually waffle on and argue about nothing much but is generally entertaining but they interviewed Laidley today and he was quite good ,probably didn't say anything different to his AW interview covered in...
Next month according to the Sunday Age. A 3 line segment in the Premier Cricket column,of all things, says that the redevelopment of Arden Street will start with the demolition of the 1928 grand stand next month. Should get some publicity out of that.
Actually he'll be co hosting the Saturday morning show with Daniel Harford 9am-12pm tomorrow. It's a general sports show but I'm sure he'll slip in a few North related items somewhere!
Wow she sure didn't let any "good will to all people" stuff get in the way of her criticism of us today! Really sank it big time.
- We've gone under the radar because of Carlton's ineptness but our story is just as bad.
-divided board
-feels sorry for Laidley as he has to work with nothing
-...
.... but not just the Kangaroos."
Caro's last words on 3AW tonight about what her article will be about tomorrow. Wonder what that will entail. Nothing good about us I suspect.
Read in the paper that we had 6 uncontracted players still on the list. I know of Urch,Grima and Perry. Brown was mentioned a few weeks ago but didn't hear anything further about his negotiations so he could be another one. Who else? There'll be at least one more delisting (2 if Whyman is...
Doesn't look like we'll be too active in trading so I thought I'd do a quick assessment of where we're at.
I'd say we want 5 selections in the ND and 1 in the PSD. Could change but this seems reasonable at the moment.
At the end of the season we had:
38 on the main list
2 Veterans
4...
On the ABC now. Good conditions at Port. I think the only affiliated players are Perry,Hay,Moran and the Chad.
Port off to a flyer 3 goals early. A nice 50 metre goal to Chad gets their first.
Missed the start of it but something about a meeting between Duff,Laidley,Walsh and others to discuss (announce?) important info about the future of the North Melbourne football club. I think she said Thursday. Anyone hear it or know anything about this?
Heard Tim Harrington on SEN earlier and he said Arch was a chance to play this week. Give it another week Arch. Tim also said,in relation to our poor start, that "sometimes you've gotta take a step back to go forward 3 steps." Hope that makes everyone feel better!
