An ok player who has 2 good games a year*
Narr Cammy is ok, just leave him forward line though. He’s not fit enough or interested in being fit enough to be a mid.
I think it’s Zorko, only other creative kicker. Cal is a workhorse but does not have a laser boot. Need someone to change angles, Zorko and McKenna.
Also like Pendles, is a good spot on the field to preserve Zorks physically.
Embarrassing. Only way to describe it. I said at 1/2 time ‘they will win this game’. Warning signs galore. This team is just mentally fragile, has been for years. Plenty of talent, but we lack leadership and back bone. Absolute train wreck of a night. The monkey on our back we will carry around...
Surprised this wasn’t up yet. Deserves a thread.
Nicole Duncan, who we all know with her trademark visa standing on the sidelines, sadly lost her short battle with Luekemia on Saturday.
Nicole has served the club for over 30 years and was a diligent administrator and heart and soul of the...
I take a slightly different view to some others. I just can’t see Miles ordering this review, to then just go ahead on the same terms. I think it effectively takes the decision out of his hands, but surely they won’t put more time and money into a review to land on the status qou.
I think it...
Harder the draw the better, practice winning on the road and in hostile settings as much as possible.
Wish us Vic fans got 6 games but other than that, looks fine!
I’ve seen nothing that gives me firm confidence Kai will make it and am not as excited as others about his signing in a footy sense. However, not writing him off either. Just a bit ‘worth a shot, I suppose’ on what I’ve seen so far.
I still think Dev is also living off and idea of what we would...
Good summary. Only need I see with the draft is a couple of young talls coming through, bar Henry Smith there’s nothing really coming through there. This is something Dom said would be looked at this draft in an interview on SEN early this season.
Daly is our footy boss, you can’t just casually add him in as our senior assistant and strategy coach as well.
He sits in the box which is not uncommon for former the footy boss, anything beyond that in terms of what he does is a guess at this point.
This will only further penalise us you’d imagine, we don’t have the cash to pay the cap, so will only further expand the gap between us and wealthy clubs.
Good teams are forced to do long term deals, sucks and might be bad business but it’s just a commercial reality.
Say (hypothetically) Hipwood gets offered 4 xs 800k by a club.
He comes to us wanting similar.
We say, ‘no but what about 7 xs 600k’.
Players then settle for that promised income...
What we have achieved with our smaller budget is remarkable.
It’s not spoken about enough really.
I think losing 2 more brains from an already under-resourced coaching panel, is a concern though, if that’s what we are doing.
Wanting more is not degrading the personal there, it’s wanting more...
this is a rumour I heard from someone I believe to have ok info, I’ve sat on it but thought I’d add it into the discussion, take it or leave it, I can not confirm if it’s entirely accurate or not
I heard from someone who has links to a current assistant coach (has accurately relayed selection...
Scoman posed the positive as a question to you? Got nothing to do with me.
I highly value teaching, mentoring, leadership, coaching.
Even if people thought they were not high quality assistants, how does that justify not replacing them properly, at all?
We have one hand tied behind our back...
Who said they were all terrible? That was never said. Stop trying to derail a coaching discussion thread with nonsense.
Contribute your opinion, add something.
let’s give it a go shall we? I’m interested in your option mate - Do you not see any issue with not replacing 2 assistants from an...
There is no way we go into 2024, shedding 2 assisants from an already under-resourced/thin coaching panel without making any additions, bar Rich in a welfare role.
We went after Selwood with a decent offer, that money/offer now goes to someone else as he’s declined.
Rich and Morris were...
DD is our footy boss, that’s an enormous job. It includes everything from sports science, to property, booking flights and accom, staffing issues. He accompanies Fagan on match day, but we can’t possibly suggest he is our footy boss and senior assistant, unless the man doesen’t sleep.
If we lost 2 quality assistants without replacing any, Morris is already an an assistant coach and Rich is welfare/skills - that would be a disastrous outcome.
Morris isn’t an appointment, he’s already a full-time assistant, he’s just moved to backline coach, surely we are adding someone else.
A month ago - Dew reportedly in talks with the Dogs.
Didn’t eventuate.
Dew lives in and reportedly wants to stay in in QLD.
A month later, one of the most prized assistant signatures still unsigned, with no news circulating.
The only other team in QLD starts reshuffling footy dept, making...
clearly the shake up Daly hinted at this time last year on SEN, is underway.
Hoping there is someone with senior credentials coming in, Stewart Dew would be a perfect back up to Fages.
Your response a massive overreaction, you constantly derail/pollute threads with posts just like it. You’d think I’d called for a hanging in the town square.
Not sure what emotion in the rooms has to do with the conversation either are you just letting us know you were there?
Any way… moving...
