A big positive was our tackling was better. We need to improve further though, and there were plenty of contest where we should have destroyed the ball carrier where we didn’t.
Our fluency on transition was also much better, but we still need to not let our half forwards drift too far up the...
First off, I’m not sifting through multiple threads of pure dribble across 2 boards, secondly, if you don’t think cowards on here delete posts when they’re wrong, i have an ugly bridge in London to sell you
Plenty of people on here were predicting a loss, no doubt they’ll come back critiquing what was a comprehensive win. We won, could’ve played better but you can make that argument for any game. We won. Day back next week, let’s move on and look at the positives.
Yeah, and it doesn’t always pay off. But, I think being be overly sincere with regard to players or your team in general is not what we should be about.
Couldn’t agree more. It remains to be seen if our decisions will pay off in the long term, but I am for the unsympathetic nature of it when it comes to sport.
The kids need time and games, and given our list and injuries, games they’ll get.
I won’t, and fair enough. It’s good to have optimism coming into a season. I personally think this is tge most even league in terms of results I’ve ever seen. Have some luck, a mediocre team can make finals, have bad luck a good team can miss, and in any given match almost anyone can win, it...
Alright, the obvious - no we aren’t tanking.
The less obvious - until recently the AFL kind of encouraged teams to do it, however, with all the concessions in the draft and free agency, now they’re against it, sort of.
Our performance is down from the end of last season, but up from the...
They’ve changed a boatload and look to be trialing even more in upcoming seasons - it hasn’t all gone smoothly, and honestly they’re in a tough spot.
On the front on thing, if you are running forwards and get stopped in your tracks, it is a jarring action not dissimilar to being in a head on...
The front on contact stopping someone in their tracks is far more violent than the majority of the tackles from yesteryear.
Comparing our sport to the shambles that is professional boxing, or to MMA is not really helpful. NFL, NRL, Rugby Union are all trying to stamp out the same things, Union...
Pretty silly thing to do really, I don’t necessarily think JF is a homophobe, but punishment is required. A week or two and a donation to charity - pride cup?
Have to agree, both North and Hawthorn have had a pretty rough start to the season in terms of the fixture. If they are still winless come the halfway point, then the blowtorch can be fairly applied, but I’d be waiting for now.
We also need to watch that our half forwards don’t all press to far up the ground, plenty of times we’d have the ball on the back flank and no one up field to kick to.
