VFL VFL Round 3 v Coburg. Good Friday April 3rd 1:05pm @ Barry Plant Park

I’ve only seen him play once, which was on my phone, so I’m not the best person to ask regarding his ceiling or comparison player. I do wonder though if he ultimately he spends more time as a midfielder or high half forward rather than a forward pocket.

If he does Saxena didn’t show it yesterday. While he’s not slow, he looks the type who will rely on poise/class rather than speed/strength.

F1 2026 Australian F1 Grand Prix - Race Weekend Thread

Yep, and that’s the area that probably more focus in comparison to the first 10-15 laps under the old regs especially on certain tracks. If only the new regs added spice to the backend of a race instead of the start.

BBL BBL Match 42, The Knockout Hobart Hurricanes v Melbourne Stars 21/1 1900hrs @ Bellerive Oval

Stars have themselves to blame if they drop this. Shit fielding, shit captaincy. Pace off was needed at the death.

Test The Ashes Fourth Test December 26-30 1000hrs @ The MCG

The 19 runs we allowed for the tenth wicket in the first innings would be handy now, but this loss is on the batting. Today it was the 2 batting collapses Head/Khawaja/Carey & Green/bowlers that hurt.

Right approach by Crawley if they’re intent on bazball, very much rode his luck when aggression early, but settled once the field had dispersed

Would have been nice if we managed to scrape together a lead of 220-250. Hard to sustain the close your eyes and swing approach for too long before luck finally goes against you.

    F1 2025 Previous Rounds - Vol. 2

As good as Piastri lap 1 overtake was it was evident then that Norris was content for 3rd. Still reckon it was the wrong strategy, but McLaren wanting Piastri to chase down Verstappen was the opposite of what he needed to do to make the hard tyre strategy work, which was to drive slower to...

    5. Development of the McLaren car to win the constructors title. The best chance to win the constructors was to resolve Norris’ mid-year battles with the car.

Too much to ask for a Russell Monaco drive through penalty. Edit: nothing, Norris kissed on the dick

    F1 2025 Previous Rounds - Vol. 2

Agree, but McLaren could just as easily **** Piastri with pit strategy or something else to change positions

    F1 2025 Previous Rounds - Vol. 2

Losing victory could kill Piastri’s confidence and it certainly makes his championship bid much harder. Had Piastri won with Norris 3rd, the gap between them would have been 12 points. That’s the difference between needing Norris to finish 4th vs 6th with a Piastri win next race. For Norris he...

    F1 2025 Previous Rounds - Vol. 2

It’s more than just asking to swap positions. Off the top of my head, Melb - orders to Piastri free to race, hold positions, free to race. Monza - Part of the argument for swapping positions was Norris being dominant, but Piastri was asked to give Norris to tow to get him through Q2. Without...

    F1 2025 Previous Rounds - Vol. 2

Don’t think McLaren’s instructions helped in Melbourne, and likely lead to Piastri pushing harder. Free to race, Piastri gets within overtaking range, hold position, Piastri falls 2-3 seconds behind, free to race.

    F1 2025 Previous Rounds - Vol. 2

If it leads to Piastri having increased qualifying pace I’m all for that strategy provided Piastri tells them to shove it once the race starts.

Just 1 or 2 more laps would have made it very interesting. Had Norris continued with such slow pace he could well have fallen behind Leclerc in that time.

Test The Ashes First Test November 21-25 1300hrs @ Perth Stadium

The rot with the opening position started 5-7 years ago with Finch and Wade being selected out of position. It’s been even more of a mess recently though. They should have tapped Warner 12 months earlier after his 200 in Melbourne and backed an inform opener instead of waisting opportunities by...
