Butters is still immature in knowing when it's time for him to be the playmaker and when he just needs to execute the basics. Too many times in big games he goes for the high-risk high-reward play because he thinks he has to be the man when instead the straightforward option would have had a...
The way it would (should) work is that after you have played every team once you get put in a mini conference of 6 and your final ladder position is determined by where you finish within that conference. E.g. if you end up in the 1-6 conference the lowest you can finish is 6th overall. If you...
He had 6 tackles against Geelong (equal most of our team) and is clearly being asked to play a defensive role on opposition playmakers. He was poor tonight but he played his role in the Geelong game and shouldn't be dropped off the back of one down game. Rioli can improve upon Narkle's offensive...
This makes sense from a team standpoint as Ollie's main skill set is inside the stoppage whilst JHF has the attributes and skills to still contribute up forward. No need for JHF to be a fixture of the midfield this year, he is still developing.
Houston getting out of the midfield and going back to the half-back line has been massive for our team. He was a solid B grade level mid but is an A+ level intercepting, attacking half back flanker where he has time and space to use his kick as a weapon rather than dump kick clearances.
If they inflated the contract value it may make some sense if the player doesn't feel confident of receiving another contract. However it's always preferable to receive money sooner than delay it due to inflation and foregone interest that could be earned etc.
I still don't understand why a player would ever accept to have their contract altered so that they received the contract value over a longer period. Clubs can't do that unilaterally.
Burgoynes form last year was massively overplayed by this board. Was a clanger king with ball in hand but won some 1 on 1s which caught everyone's eye. Outside of the Collingwood game he was in our bottom handful whenever he played.
I'm not saying he won't make it but everyone presumes a linear...
I believe every club in the AFL is audited. My firm audits the Crows in South Australia (financial statement audit and salary cap audit) and I know a mid tier firm audits Port Adelaide. The audit reports are submitted to the AFL.
Chad Wingard got to elite very quickly. All-Australian in his second year and a dual All-Australian and club BnF winner by age 22. Looked set to have a career that would put him in the frame for Port's GOAT. However he fell from elite just as quickly and has been nothing more than a moderately...
Bonner is crucial to our success this year. He offers a point of difference to our other half backs (Houston, Burton, Farrel etc.) in that he actually takes the game on with line breaking run. For all the "good kicks" we have in our backline they only ever seem to go long and down the line to a...
Can someone explain to me why Bowes would agree to change the terms of his contract so he received the total value over 4 years instead of 2? If he is contractually entitled to 800k per season for the next 2 years it makes 0 sense for him to take a 50% pay cut unless he thinks he is no chance of...
