So what would your preference be Magnets, play in 10 consecutive grand finals with a core group of locals/recruits who have now become locals. Or 1 in 10 and a small group of bush players think your club is a better destination because they could manage to play regular senior football there...

Cudgewa because they are currently going ok. But going ok in a league that is going horribly is not exactly a great achievement. Would love to know there position if they were in Walwa’s situation. Corryong, federal and Walwa form a team and leave Cudgewa to sort themselves out.

A single entity team from the UM would be competitive in the TDFL. Pushing the rivalries aside and merging is a much better alternative to no rivalries at all. There’s no doubt the kids who are currently seeking more opportunities or a better standard in the TDFL would more than likely prefer...

Not much of a wrap for the blokes who did put there hand up and represent the WRFL . The fact is that was the team they could put together and it wasn’t good enough. Don’t think you will find many representative teams these days who have all of there best players put there hand up and play.

I think the reality is the UMFL is in real trouble. Realistically even if there was just enough kids not every junior is going to go on and play senior football at their club. If any of them are half decent they will head down to Alb/Wod(can’t blame them). Large amount will move for work/study...

Wouldn’t they be better off spreading themselves between a few different TDFL clubs...? How many kids are we talking about? If they are a mix from all 5 clubs they were going to play against each other anyway. Feds kids to Mitta, bullioh to tallangatta etc etc...

This is actually incorrect Old Kenny. AWJFL clubs have had multiple teams in the same age group for years. Well before any mention of league equalisation and points systems. In saying that was it ever an option for say Wodonga to field a second team in the under 16’s which has an affiliation...

So instead they can stay at their club e.g. Albury. And continue to be a fringe player, play with a different bunch of blokes each week and occasionally get the four points via a forfeit. Perfect...

Scrap the reserves all together i say. Corowa not the only ones struggling to fill a side week to week. It's not great footy. have U16's, U18's and seniors. Let the players who don't get a game play for there chosen local club. As they do in the VFL.

Im sure an extra 5-10k towards an end of season footy trip out of the prize money would be enough of an incentive for 2 more weeks of footy. Plus its actually enjoyable that time of year as the weather is spot on...

Wouldn't have thought the points system and salary cap is all that relevant in the UMFL. Obviously these sytems were established to create a more even playing field and put a stop to whats happening in the Ovens and Murray. UMFL is relatively even (border walwa aside). Recruiting is hard enough...
